I understand what you're saying entirely. I would just like the fight to be closer to its date until I give Wilder some credit for it that's all. I just want to see it happen. No excuses, no pull outs, no failed drug tests, etc. Then I can be sure Wilder wanted the fight and give him some credit for that, when he didn't even have to fight Ortiz.

    Wait...

This is Luis Ortiz the undefeated heavyweight Cuban boxer with a record of 27-0-0, correct? Or is it a fat dude named Luis Ortiz who works at Walgreens?

This wont happen. Wilder will not step in the ring with a live body.

Yes. Might be Parker or Whyte rematch, or maybe he fights the winner :)

while on paper, it's official. I'm not getting too excited for this fight until fight night cuz.... for all we know, Ortiz could pop dirty "somehow" or an injury happens or any other funny business could occur.

I'm already sure Wilder wants the fight, if he was trying a set-up surely he wouldn't pay Stiverne to step-aside?

Also I know from the NZ forum that some of the guys there had dinner with Wilder's team at Wilder-Washington and they were definitely of the impression that Wilder was serious about fighting better opposition this year. Wilder-Parker would probably have been made if the WBO hadn't forced Parker to fight Hughie instead.

Lol, no I don't think anyone is ducking anyone. Ortiz preferred the Joshua fight as it was more $$$, but Joshua chose to fight the mando of the stricter org (IBF) first.

Yeah I suppose you're right. Sorry I missed that detail about Stiverne. A great fight if it ends up happening then, that's all I'll say for now.

No probs, I understand your skepticism based on a long history of disappointments with Wilder. perfectly understandable, I used to think so too, I think something just switched with Deontay and he decided to try to prove himself.

Lets hope so eh? I would like to see that because I don't dislike him as a person based on what I have seen from him. Would be good to see him prove himself against good opposition and show he's a proper, top fighter.

I agree. Full credit to him for once and it's not in his own backyard either. I saw no signs of decline in Ortiz against Scott and Allen as some claimed. He was in full control and dominated both fights. This is going to be a good fight.

Yes, it's basically 50-50. I got Wilder, but there's a very, very good case for Ortiz.

They said it couldn't be done. The keyboard warriors said that Deontay don't fight dangerous cubans, pumped up full of PED's. God bless the devastating bronze bomber for saving the heavyweight division. While that body builder Joshua, makes a mockery of the title belts. By fighting that punk Pulev!
