Yep, because of that wide scorecard, the inclination is for the media to hype it up as a form or corruption.
Personally I think Teddy Atlas was way out of line.
10-2 isn't indicative of the competitive nature of the fight, but I don't think there was any corruption in play here.
If Byrd was set on seeing to it that Canelo won on her card and corruption on her part was in play, she would'nt have had it that wide.

I don't think Byrd was corrupt or dishonest. I think she just did what most judges don't do and that is score rounds to who she actually thought won the round.
The inclination from most judges nowdays is to not give to many consecutive rounds to one particular fighter when the rounds are being fought competitively.

Byrd imo just preffered cleaner punching over volume punching and her scorecard was indicative of that.
If you look at it factually, Canelo's punches landed cleaner and were harder in almost every round.
Those who gave GGG almost all the middle rounds preffered his activity over cleaner, harder, more effective punching.

This ideal that Byrd turned in an atrocious scorecard imo is being blown way out of proportion and the tirade by Teddy Atlas on ESPN only fueled the fire that the media wants to create in order to have something to write about.

I will pray faithfully that maybe somehow this gets overturned and GGG gets the win, because there is no way she can justify this scorecard, unless she was staring at Canelo's fancy beard and attractive body.

Nevada has a history of their judges turning in dishonest scorecards, but in this case I agree with the commission. I don't think there was any impropriety here. I think Judge Byrd just preffered Canelo's cleaner harder punching over Golovkin's workrate.
One thing that has to be remembered here is that while Canelo was on the ropes, Golovkin was missing and riding with a lot of the punches.
I'm wondering if where judge Byrd was sitting, she just had a better view of Canelo dodging Golovkin's aggression.

10-2 isn't indicative of how competitive the fight was, which is why people are up at arms about her scoring.

Definitely should be suspended. What I don't understand is if they were going to rig it, why not just make it a more believable scorecard? The 118-110 card does a disservice to Canelo more than anyone..

I wish it was that easy for me but it's just not.. Hand picked judges, Golden boy, the whole BS of boxing in on this one..There is a huge amount of pressure on judges, Byrd .. to turn in a favorable scorecard or they risk maybe not working the " big fight" again .. Follow the money !! It back fired for her Bigtime, and now she's basically getting suspended!!

It's unfortunate, because instead of us talking about how great of a fight it was, all anybody wants to talk about is her scorecard. I can see how seeing that score would be insulting to G fans. But I don't think it's fair to take it out on Canelo. What sucks is it just fuels the conspiracy theories and what a lot of G fans were worried about going into the fight. It's really the best of both worlds for G fans, because with that card they get the confirmation bias they need to justify their worries going into the fight, without having G actually lose.

Again, dishonest judges know how to mask their dishonesty.
If judge Byrd was on the take, she'd have scored the fight much closer to disguise her dishonesty.
Her card just doesn't smell corrupt. You can call her inept if you don't agree with her card, but that wide a score doesn't point to corruption.
Corrupt scorecards are disguised to be close on points.

Being on the take, having a strong bias going in, Golden Boy Promotions, picking her as a judge for being "inept" ..whatever the case may be, judges are supposed to be completely NUETRAL... When one fighter outpoints his opponent and is given a 118-110 scorecard against him.. Call it what you want.. I call it corruption!! Follow the Money, that's just a simple fact what boxing has turned into these days

And now 10-2 to Canelo vs GGG.

Do we need anymore evidence of the incompetence of this judges scoring?

    Thoughts?
