I highly favour Hughie in this fight. Not only does he have a better jab than Parker, he has reach, IQ and movement. Parker has a punchers chance.

I am with you on every word that you wrote. I hate to say this, but as I wrote in another thread: the Furys have played Parker and his people for months as artfully as Yo Yo Ma plays a Stradivarius cello. And they'll keep on playing them until the scorecards are announced in Hughie Fury's favour on Saturday night. This whole affair makes me nauseous as I really like Parker. Parker as a fighter and as a person deserves much better handlers, from A to Z.

matchroom put on a lot of expensive (youre paying btw) flashy shows, but many of them lack any kind of substance or integrity. buying the belt off the lottery winning king charles spaniel was a true low point in HW boxing.

hennessy does far smaller shows but was doing some nice stuff with decent evenly matched domestic scraps and also bringing some young fighters on who where progressing nicely through the area then national titles. This was when he had a few TV deals. and im quite sorry thats gone now, because although they lacked the hysteria of s*y sports circus they were good events.

other matchroom highlights include, finishing kell brooks career in the space of 2 fights and convincing the uk that froch v groves was the biggest thing to happen since earth developed sentient life.

youve got a point regarding team fury, but i think having more options for watching boxing and wresting a monopoly away from newscorp can only be a good thing.

and lets not forget that mick is delivering a genuinely interesting 50/50 HW title fight here.

matchroom have never done that and probably never will.

Duco Events is based principally in New Zealand. Both directors of the company are Kiwis, not Australians.

Dave Higgins, who Parker elected to go with after the directors split, is based in NZ.

Dean Lonergan, who looks after Jeff Horn, is based in Australia.

Lonergan did the deal with Top Rank to promote both Parker & Horn.

That's who Parker should be fighting for. Not some miscreant Pommie outfit.

You don't think Joshua Wlad was a 50/50? You think Mick is a decent promoter? The same guy couldn't do anything of real note with Carl Froch, an all action world class everyman with lots of local support. Say what you want about Hearn being a dick but he made Froch a household name. The guy knows how to hype fights be they good or bad.

Mick however has a as you say genuine pick em world title fight happening on our shores and almost nobody cares because he's so bad at his job. The guy had a former gold medalist fighting at ****ing leisure centres for crying out loud. I'm all for competition for Matchroom but Hennesy isn't the man to provide it.

Hughie is getting a lot of credit he hasn't earned, and Parker is getting a lot of criticism he hasn't.

The truth lies somewhere in the middle.

Parker stated just recently he is setting up base in the UK and wants to fight out of there.

I read he left school at 12. Listening to him I have no reason to disbelieve that. Doesn't mean he's not a good kid though. Just extremely uncomplicated.

Given how vibrant the UK heavyweight scene is at the moment and guys like "The Rhino" are hugely popular (lets be honest he is shite). I can't believe how butchered this match up has been.

Really anyone remotely involved in this "promotion" need to be sacked as this is a fight that should have promoted its self..

Hughie's personal referee will try to protect him. British broke the WBO rules, even if Parker would lose, he has a good legal case in a protest! If I were Parker, I would cancel the fight....................until the get a neutral referee...................

Very few tickets sold. Nobody wanted to show it and it ends up on Youtube. Hughie pulling out of the matchup twice already and now the referee debacle.

This has been an absolute sham from start to finish. All it needs now is a home cooked decision.
