it could have been that they had Byrd score a massively wrong scorecard in the attempts that people talk about that more than the fact it was actually ruled a draw. Which is what has happened to be fair. They have somewhat disguised the main talking point in that the wrong decision was given and there has been more talk about Byrds scorecard than anything else !
You have to cure your normalcy bias. Your belief is that evil people do not exist in the world. You should be strong and realize that evil exists. If you pretend to live in Disneyworld, you'll eventually suffer a rude awakening. 99% of people who scored this fight had it wide for GGG. Only Canelo's business associates scored it for him.
Almost exactly how I saw it. The middle 6 rounds were solidly GGG. 2-3 were Canelo's best rounds. 1, 10, 11, 12 could really have gone to anybody. You could really take any of those four rounds in isolation and put up a good argument as to why either fighter should have taken it. It's as unfair to give them all to GGG as it is to give them to Canelo. In my initial scoring I had 1, 11 and 12 for Canelo and 10 for GGG. I therefore had a 7-5 GGG score and understand where the 8-4 GGG scores come from. A draw isn't the worst result ever, in the light of who the judges were.
With Canelo as the wunderkind defensive wizard with the fast combinations, it was his job to make Golovkin miss with everything and to light GGG up like a christmas tree. He failed, because he got outlanded and his combinations were often picked off on Golvkin's gloves or whiffed air.
Presumably you have no intention of watching boxing again if you truly believe all that? I know I wouldn't...
no.....several individual ROUNDS were close. Close but clear to GGG But the FIGHT was a clear win for GGG.
Hey, I'm not arguing, I agree Golovkin won. He didn't win big though. I had it 7-5, leaning towards 8-4 on rewatches.
Before the fight i was unsure of the outcome. I have followed both fighters careers and had no personal favorite in particular. I scored the fight 8-4 GGG 7-5 at worst. I expected more from Canelo, ehought he would have stood his ground more often and traded, but that wasn't to be. He back pedaled the entire fight and just didn't throw enough punches.
Cheers. In fights between top class guys theres rerely all that much in it. By those standards GGG was well over Canelo. 8-4 = he won twice as many rounds. Thats where I was coming from.
This is correct. Everyone is distracted and talking about the ridiculous 118-110 scorecard. But Don Trella who scored it a draw had Canelo winning the 7th round which was an easy GGG round. Everyone gave GGG the 7th round. Even Byrd. That was the difference between the draw and a GGG victory.
Agree. However, one exception. Doubtful that Byrd was bought off. She is just too stupid to judge boxing. she should not even be allowed to just a marble contest between children.
