All but confirmed. Although I have a feeling that Bellew might just hold off until after this weekend to see if Parker beats Fury.

    Let's be ****ing having this!

TBF there was that Ringstar 'contract' signed with Team Fury a month or so back as well. So it is possible there is pre-arrangement that Haye is HF's first defence, if he were to win. (Although obviously Haye has to squeeze a fight in before, so to get a top 15 ranking).

He did seem to mention in that chat he had on camera to that UFC who wants to fight him, that he has a couple of fights lined up first.

17th is in fact a Sunday by the way, so this would be quite interesting.

There's some cracking stuff this year. Best year of boxing in ages.

Think Haye will prepare much harder for this. He underestimated Bellew last time. Won't happen again.

Yep brilliant fights. WBSS has helped a lot. Even this weekend we will have to choose between Linares-Campbell and Kudyrashov-Dorticos most likely since both fights are Stateside. And a World Heavyweight Title appetiser...

Haye this time will box and look to win on points IMO. He won't go looking for the KO. He'll let Bellew chase the fight and that's where the KO opportunity will present itself. Last time after two rounds, Haye was timing his jab really well, landing brilliantly to the body. He can win this on jab alone. Let's not forget also that Bellew tired badly in that fight, something which was totally masked by Haye's injury. I'm still not convinced Bellew can do 12 with a fit Heavyweight.

Eddie mentioned that on a IFL interview asking Kugan what he thought about a fight on a Sunday, guess he was on about these two getting it on again.

On a side note....does anyone think the timing of this announcement was deliberately made during the week of a Fury World title fight? Or am I just overly cynical?

Well technically hasn't been announced yet. Haye just confirming that terms have been agreed - which Eddie did say was the biggest stumbling block. Apparently they were miles off a few weeks back.

It's on Bellew to sign now.

The mugs will be queueing up to buy this as a PPV !
    Lord save us.
In reality it's a Southern Area Title level fight at heavyweight, but somehow SKY will sell it to the ill-informed as two "world class heavyweight contenders".

It's a natural fight for the flagging careers of the boxers themselves though. They really have nowhere else to go. Bellew is stuck between stepping up and losing at cruiserweight or stepping up and losing at heavyweight, (OR retiring !) and he's not really a big name to attract anyone at heavyweight. Might as well fight Haye again.
It's a winnable fight for both of them. Meaningless on the world stage, but Eddie Hearn will sell it as something meaningful.
