Do you guys think with Manny Stewart in his corner, Primo could be a champion today?

 Was Primo so bad that he can't even be considered in hypothetical situations?

If anybody could work wonders with Primo, it would be Steward.

    Couldn't help him what?
Get a third lineal heavyweight championship defense in the 1930's?
Or get an alphabet title today?

Carnera did find his Manny Stewart figure, in the form of Abe Attell.

I don't think that Stewart could have done much with him, that Abe Attell hadn't already done.

    You really don't think so?
I'd be surprised if he couldn't get one even without Stewart.

I don't think Carnera would have even been in a position to challenge for a title if he hadn't been fed a lineup of tank artists and dive experts.I think a good half of his fights were either,pre-arranged ,or the circumstances were such that the odds were insurmountable for the opponents to win as in, cornermen rubbing oil of capsicum into their eyes [Roy Clark] ,slitting their eyebrows with a razor,[Ricardo Bertalazzo],throwing in the towel for no apparent reason after the fighter had refused to dive on being threatened with a gun,[ Leon Chevalier].
Its a mystery to me why some refuse to accept these facts and make a crusade out of trying to "re-adjust" boxing history.God knows they have tried hard enough with their revisionist BS,and, as this thread proves they are still trying! Let the 3 or 4 Carnera torch bearers here believe what they want.I just wish they would stop trying to convert the rest of us!

Manny did great with Lewis and wlad, but they had the God given skills to go on to greater success. I can't see him doing a great deal with primo to be honest.

How many heavyweight boxers did Steward train all the way to be champion?
