Vito Antuofermo vs Gene Fullmer

    Who wins this foul filled slugfest? I would lean towards Fullmer beating Vito, how about you how does this one play out? Or should we keep discussing current MW's in the CLASSIC Forum?

    Been on an Alan Minter binge today, and watching Minter vs Antuofermo I, made me think of this. Antuofermo can likely hold his own in the headbutt department

    I would take Fullmer against Vito. Wouldnt be suprised if he stopped him and I dont just mean on cuts.

    Fullmer and for the same reason he beat Basilio twice ,too big ,and naturally stronger.

    I pick Fullmer. I think besides being more durable with better stamina, he had the option of going to movement.

    Fullmer. He was a stronger, better fighter than Vito. He would have fought him the way he did Basilio...in fact, Gene would have looked like a brutally strong Willie Pep compared to Antuofermo. He would have cut, busted up and out mauled Vito en route to a tko in the 13th or 14th rounds. This would have been an extremely dirty fight all the way.

    Agreed, strange isn't it? some matchups seem almost obvious while others are real cloudy.
