Canelo outboxed GGG in the first quarter of the fight, and outslugged him in the last quarter.

Oh, so its not so much Mayweather, its your ethnic bias.

I give fair credit where credit is due.

Artirias, that the dude who had GGG outlanding Canelo by 100 punches instead of just 50? He was saying that compubox was ****ed just like you, only going the other way. Honestly, when I saw the fight it did look like GGG was landing more than compubox let on, and I thought the reality might be more like what he said than what they said. Of course, Radrook did the opposite, and claimed Canelo landed 100 more punches than he threw while claiming GGG landed nothing. Personally, I think they're all biased and their numbers can't be trusted.

I agree 100%, I find this very annoying too. Clear racially motivated trolls on both sides get supported by decent posters who ought to know better, just because they support a fighter they like or criticize a fighter they dislike.

This thread is a bit embarrassing to be honest, it reminds me of those who say Pacquiao beat Mayweather. The facts are:

    1) It's the rounds that are scored, not the Compubox numbers. Compubox themselves say that the numbers in no way replace the regular scoring.

    2) Everyone who knows about boxing realizes that Compubox is just a couple of guys ringside pressing a button when they think a punch landed. It just shows how they scored the fight.

    3) You've tried to pull off a false equivalency on the people here. Simply because Compubox may not be accurate, you infer a conspiracy theory that it is done purposely to "help" GGG. This is in the same league with those who say the judges were bribed by GBP, who say that Pacquiao beat Mayweather via slo-mo.

A Compubox mistake does not equal some huge conspiracy to pad GGG's numbers.

I never trust Compubox myself, there's human error, and a tendency to score blocked punches.

But in terms of a full-blown conspiracy theory, as advocated by the OP? You need a lot more evidence.

I had the fight 8 rounds to 4 for Golovkin, same as Harold Lederman and over 90% polled. Hell, all you have to do is watch the fight without bias, Golovkin fought Mexican style, he made the fight, El Pollo ran like the chicken in the first Rocky movie!

Canelo repeatably pulled his head away from jabs and people want to believe it was actually GGG knocking his head back , it wasn't. He dodged far more jabs than he caught if you examine it closely.

The reality is this fight was extremely hard to score , Canelo had no dominant rounds and neither did Golovkin. At no point did either guy look superior than the other , but at a push id say Canelo did since he was the smaller guy and displayed more variation in his work , landed the cleaner more telling shots and had the better defense and ring generalship. You don't win a fight because you keep stalking and popping out a jab in my view.
I believe Canelo's performance will mature over time and the controversy will die down.

You can point to the majority but the majority dksab or how to score a fight. The majority had Roman getting robbed by Sor Rungvasi and most went along with it because they were brainwashed into believing Roman was the better boxer.
GGG is good and isn't a media creation but the reputation he carries suggests he should have beat Canelo down a lot worse than he did. He knew what he had to do in there but wasn't good enough to deliver it afaic.

GGG outlanded Canelo in the 5th. rewatched it again. As for the compubox there can be several reasons why the discrepancy. they might have shown it twisted and ggg was up 14 to 9, which would be reasonable from my point of view, then they've both landed some in the last 30s. Another possibility can be that they make mistakes during the punch count, take notes and correct them at the end of the round. I've seen it happen with compubox quite a few times (they've shown a twisted amount and corrected it in the end), i just can't tell you from the top of my head now which fights. And even if it is true that the 5th was padded (which i believe it wasn't), you still need to prove other rounds or majority of other rounds that were padded to make your case. 1 out 12 is not a big enough sample to make a claim, it may only serve as a reason for doing a case study. Again, from what i've seen, GGG outlanded Canelo in the 5th.
