By the way, this isn't a knock on Mikey Garcia. I'm just trying to expose the strange media bias towards foreign fighters. I think that Mikey is highly skilled, but GGG has shown even greater skills from a technical standpoint and beyond against a greater variety of opponents.

Prior to the Kell Brook fight, critics repeatedly questioned GGG's resume. Max Kellerman actually told GGG to his face, on air, that he's fought nobodies. Crazy disrespect! Yet Mikey is completely immune to criticism while being a media and Top Top P4P darling. Look, Mikey's resume is garbage. I'm just keeping it 100%. Let's take a look.

Broner (we've known for a long time now that this dude talks an elite game, but is only actually slightly above gatekeeper level in reality)

Zlaticanin (undersized meathead who grabbed a vacant belt from... Franklin Mamani)

    Rojas

    Burgos

    Martinez

    Lopez

    Salido

    Barros

    Pastrana

    Concepcion

Is this list really deserving of Top Ten P4P status? Yes, Mikey has skills, but he's not more skilled than GGG.

GGG has the better jab, better footwork, better ring-cutting ability, better punch selection (even though he's abandoned the left hook to the body for some odd reason). And he's got the better jaw (Mikey's was dropped by Martinez - not a known puncher), but this is not Mikey's fault.

You could say that Mikey has better defense than GGG, but does he really? We know that GGG is hittable, but also because he doesn't mind taking shots to deliver his own. The risk is calculated whereas Mikey is risk adverse. GGG slipped and rolled a ton of Canelo's shots.

And GGG certainly has the superior resume by a healthy margin even before Kell Brook.

So why is it that Mikey considered a technical genius and receives zero doubt/criticism despite having a poor resume?

How is Mikey more skilled? I'm not saying he's not skilled, but what does he do better than Golovkin?

You're full of doo doo... Just like when you said that Canelo would end the GGG hype train, but got beaten and gifted a draw.

    LMAO!!!

    Simple...
Simple....Fan boys aren't making threads saying MG dominates the greats like Salvador Sanchez, Alexis Arguello, Pryor and Duran or he hits harder than Hearns.
G fans on the other hand, have made threads about G, saying he dominates Hagler, could beat Mike Tyson, hits harder than Marciano and so on. So, because of this, people will react in a way that is not pleasant to G.

Agree with the assessment of the resume, aside from Broner and Salido, its pretty average. He gets no credit for Juanma, he came in overweight and at that point Salido had already ruined him, Juanma had nothing left. Barros and Rojas, average in every way, Martinez and Zlaticanin, both okay, but what's their claim to fame? Wins over Burns, so what!

Oh, you're trying to be cute and technical. Yes, GIFTNELO had a pre-filled 118-110 card and could only muster a draw. That's how bad he really lost.

Mikey is less skilled than just about nobody in professional boxing. He is elite and if your eyes don't tell you that then you are not educating them properly.

Some of the comments/threads around here are dumbfounding.

Exactly. Mickey has even been in more weight classes and he's not 35. This is pathetic.
