22½ years later, I have. OMFG this is a riot. :jaja-no:

Skip to about ten minutes and listen to Jim Watt. Maybe the most befuddled the man has ever sounded; he's just in a complete snit. Trying his damnedest to explain the Atomic Bull's inexplicable "strategy". (especially after having really fancied the job in the second!! :dunno:dunno:dunno)

He's so relieved when Mills Lane finally stops it, like a little kid who just found out that Santa had a dodgy sleigh ride flying over North Korea and got hit with a missile, but that in the latest updates coming in over the wire he managed to pull in for a safe landing in a little agrarian village in Mongolia, knocking back some kumis and having a grand old time (although he just bartered away three of his reindeer for a new Mrs. Claus, thinking it a piss take, not realizing they'll be rejoining him for, er, breakfast...)

His broadcast partner, by contrast, was so amused by the whole ordeal, gleefully making the call for the last big power combo from Lennox, started by a flush uppercut, with "That'll put a stop to your larking about, won't it? :)"

Rewind. Check out that uppercut, now that you mention it - starting from 12:54 in that video, and the following shots: a cross, a hook, and then for a flourish a couple of hard straight torpedoes downstairs.

    The psycho barely even flinched.

For a giant crybaby, this was an insanely tough SOB.

Hell, even Vitali Klitschko was visibly rocked into an involuntary swoon or two (or rather, several) by more or less the same punch, delivered by a six-years-older, past-his-prime, fatigued Lewis with less advantageous ring positioning & leverage than here, pinning McCall in the corner and in the ideal mid-range zone after having just measured out with some unanswered jabs.

I think the demons in McCalls head are made of iron. British commentary is awesome sometimes, like when Khan gets knocked out, and Price vs Teper.

All those bombs in the fourth and opening minute of the fifth. I mean, ****!!!!

73 professional matches and this was his only stoppage loss ...and he didn't even go down, with a peak Lewis just wailing on him virtually unimpeded for a few stanzas. You'd think an experience like that would put a dent in your chin, but McCall fought thirty-nine more times in his career (never again with an elite anywhere close to a Lewis, but they mostly weren't bums either, and their combined records are in fact quite positive), and I'm not sure he ever got dropped. Once. Put that in your pipe and...throw away the rest of your drugs b/c you won't ever need them again b/c your mind should pretty much be thoroughly blown at this point.

If Big Josh landed that uppercut on McCall.... He'd just like raise his head, and wave his finger at Joshua's direction.

How bad a chin must Elijah's mom have, to (more than) cancel out these genes from pops???

Like, how did her bloodline survive before modern times, in the cavemen running around clubbing each other to death era?

Horrible to watch as he's clearly having some mental s*** to deal with but it's crazy to think someone could have a chin like this

He just flat out ignored Lennox freaking Lewis pounding him on the face, repeatedly. Arms down for much of it, and never doing much in the way of defense but the odd parry or guard held straight up in one fixed spot and fairly loose.

    That's bananas.

Don King took McCall straight out of rehab for that fight, McCall had a nervous breakdown during the fight, not from fear of Lewis who he had TKO'd before, but from drug withdrawal...........McCall did not fight back, he just stood there and took the best punches Lewis could throw and the punches did not bother him at all................Don King has destroyed a lot of boxer's careers................

As soon as he ran to the ring you know something was wrong.

    What a chin though.

People need to stop giving Lewis too much credit for this win. He won a rematch versus a guy who had no intention of winning. Not Lewis' fault obviously, but this was no Louis vs. Schmeling II or Ali vs. Frazier II.

Overall for Lewis outstanding record, this win was quite insignificant.

Well, as Watt correctly pointed out, McCall did put forth real effort (if not quite tidy stuff ...urgh, those floppy high-in-the-sky right hands! Like a wavy ribbon-man outside a highway gas station. That isn't how you get to a taller guys chin.. :ohno) and probably did win it on sheer hustle. Then, keeping his poise, Lennox frustrated him enough to induce the complete mental collapse.

I know the headline rounds of this one are the second with McCall's brief surge, and of course the 4th/5th due to his crazy, weepy nolo contendere shenanigans - but watch the 1st.

    Shit-hot boxing from Lennox.
