http://www.latimes.com/sports/boxing/la-sp-bellator-lima-macdonald-20170920-story.html Excellent a-class fight. Two top 10 Welterweights.
Koreshkov too. I thought letting Larkin go while he was red hot was a huge a mistake. Bellator capitalized on it by signing him and setting up the fight with Lima which turned out to be a huge success for them. Not only did their champ school a top 10 UFC fighter, it was one the best pure striking matches MMA has seen in a long time. Bellators Welterweight division is excellent.
Macdonald is still a young guy and highly motivated, nothing to suggest he isn't in the middle of his prime. The UFC railroaded him with the super tough Thompson matchup after being out for a year to lower his free agent value.
he railroaded himself with his shitty gameplan and sticking to it, being content on losing. If plan a isnt working you gotta make the necessary adjustments. Rory did not. He was content on losing.
I think Rory can hang with him on the feet, he can hang with anyone in the division there. He just should avoid brawling and stay tight. But yeah. He has a strong advantage on the mat and should take full advantage of it.
You mean he should brawl. Hes nowhere near as technical as lima on the feet. If he sits back and counterstrikes with lima he suffers a worse fate then when he fought thompson. Lima kicks harder faster then thompson and punches way better. If mcdonald doesnt get lima down and win rounds that way he better pray for a gift.
Ive seen macdonald fail vs strikers that have less skill then lima. He fails to make adjustments and lets dudes get in his head.
