What people fail to realise is is that theres a lot more things put into it to make aj the success he is. Without the platform aj wouldnt be nearly as popular. Without the promoter and the marketing again he wouldnt be nearly as popular. Hes a knockout artist but theres guys around the world that are knockout artists. He,d always be popular but nothing like what your seeing today. Sky/matchroom etc made him what he is. They ve took a good product and made him a household name. Its like people think its all been done by joshua himself. So he takes everything paying out peanuts to everyone around him cause hes joshua. Look at dubois...he ll go on knocking guys out for a while. Most fans dont even know if the opponents are any good they dont care. But he ll still never reach the popularity of joshua sitting on boxnation. Matchrooms done an unbelievable job with joshua. Hes needed them just as much as they ve needed him to be the success he is.
Yeah I agree people can't say they should earn this much then complain about the ppv. Personally I don't think a £9.99 ppv sells any more than a £15 ppv.
Yeah think if it went down to 4.99 you,d be looking at a lot more buys. But would probably make less overall. We,re at a stage people are happy enough paying for the big fights. But by the looks of things all the half decent fights are moving onto the ppv platform. I m saying 4.99 would be the right price for them. The fighters just need to take a bit less or no fight. Their not prepared to do it for less money and fans dont want to pay the full price. Just cant get my head round 15 quid for a youtube fight of a pretty run of the mill fight. At the same time realistic to realise without any ppv money someones losing money on it. They probably will anyway. Its a broken system for the many but a system that works perfectly for the few.
Yeah I agree. AJ, GGG etc I'm happy paying £20 ppv. Parker fury? No chance. I would pay £5 though so your right it would do more buys.
