He does. But he's got a hard on for the back foot style and the Fury's, in this case he's got a bit of a blind spot.
The result is bad for Britain, but good for boxing, don't begrudge Parker the win, he was the aggressor and he was the only one in there trying to win the fight. Those pitter patter shots from Fury are not scoring punches, they wouldn't even KO a school girl let alone win a heavyweight title fight. They have to be hard clean shots to score, not that Parker was landing a lot either but Fury ran, so you have to give it to the aggressor here, and Parker at least did land a few (but not many) clean hard shots, while Fury landed none. Thank god for the judges.
To be fair to Parker, He come into this fight the best I've ever seen him. I don't think he's ****, he just thought an elite defensive boxer who has a bit of a chin with some of those shots he managed to withstand. They ain't B-Level, both of them are top 5 for me after this performance.
Some talk about a lot of punches from Parker being blocked, but a lot of slappy jab from Hughie were blocked too.
In almost every other fight backpedalling while only throwing pawing, light jabs shouldn't win rounds. But when the other guy is so ineffective and clueless coming forward and lands nothing clean at all, well, those light jabs become decisive and should win rounds.
BG loves Hughie... didn’t surprise me. Once again it’s the score cards that stain the decision. I personally thought Parker would but just much closer than 118-110.
Just got back from this fight. Me and most others around where I was sat thought that a Parker win was the right outcome. I would have to re-watch the fight to score it, but from what I saw there, I only thought Fury won around 3 rounds.
Is this the first time judges have been paid off twice to fake a score? Real John le Carre type stuff.
They probably saw last weekends score and thought it would be less suspicious to have 2 judges with the same score.
Good decision for a change . Whats scary is the boxing community waiting for another bad call..and that would be a normal thing in the only combat sport where its acceptable. Well Parker won and did so enough to where ( luckily ) eyes were on the sport, from another dropped ball which was GG vs Canelo. Parker won and hughie CANNOT win in top ten unless he puts some quality shopts ( power ) together..thats how the cookie crumbles as they say in the 40's ...lol
totally agree. The commentary was simply awful. If Tyson was commentating it probably wouldn't have been any more bias.
I actually think wild, unorthodox attacks from Parker are more effective when up against a guy who moves a lot. And Parker didn't land nothing in any of the rounds. Like @james5000 said, he did a good job working to the body in the clinches and worked a jab to the body, most of which were ignored.
