Well, fight went very much like I was predicting, besides the total mindrape of a final score. Glad Parker won, but I really don't have much hope for him from this point on. He's reached his ceiling and he's likely in his prime already despite his age. Joshua will end him; someone like Whyte might even beat him at this point. Really disappointed in Parker and how he turned out. I'll continue to support him but I I've lost the faith I once had in him for the division.
If I see any more BS decisions in the next week I'm ****ing off this "sport" for good. GGG robbed of his perfect record was bad enough. Now the BS decisions seem to have escaped Vegas and made their way to the UK.
I just woke up.. Didn't see the fight. Heard it was a robbery.. but I'll eat my crow. Unless it was a Murata/N'dam type robbery. Man this ain't a good boxing year for me.. @CST80. It wasn't a robbery, it was close, but all Fury did was run, hold and flick out his jab, IB and I both had it 115-113, but 116-112 was feasible, at best Fury could have gotten the nod 115-113, but that would have been a stretch, the UK commentary was ridiculously biased, and that swayed a lot of people possibly.
I had it edged to Parker. I couldnt listen to the UK commentary. Talking like every Fury jab was knocking Parkers head back, when in reality they were simply getting swatted away. Ugly fight. Parker needs something different. Barry just seems to be trying to stifle Parker, who early on in his career, was a jab happy, quick moving boxer. While the wins are coming, the skills just seemed to be stagnating. I was yelling at my tv for 12 rounds telling Parker to double up with a jab, if not to score with it, but also setup the heavier hits. One off bombs wouldn't get him past better opposition..
According to a post fight interview with Peter Fury that I saw on YouTube, Peter claims that Kevin Barry, walked up to him and said "I thought you guys got robbed" - Kevin Barry. I dont know if thats true but thats what Peter Fury said. If thats the case, Kevin Barry needs to leave Parker immediately. Youre right though, were not seeing anything from Joe thats new.
This fight was NOT close. And had Parker let his hands go from rnd 9 to 12 might had done the damage he talked about....Parker won at least 10 rnds if you actually are counting what landed and whos not doing much...
