Danny Jacobs vs Canelo Alvarez

Easy one

 

Jacobs' athleticism, power & movement would trouble Canelo a lot imo.

 

canelo keeps improving and danny jacobs has shown a questionable chin, if feather fisted sergio mora can drop him i think canelo can too.

 

Jacobs wins.

He doesn't have the defensive cuteness of Canelo but he also throws combination punches and flurries, with pretty quick hands. This will go some way to negate Saul's defensive superiority, and once you factor in Jacobs' size, 4 inch reach advantage and big power advantage ... it becomes apparent that Saul is going to have problems.

Golovkin's excellent jab gave both these guys problems (Jacobs more than Canelo) but that's out of the equation. So they're going to have to exchange to land, and in these exchanges I favour Jacobs.

The final nail in the coffin is the fact that Jacobs fights a whole round, and he has a pretty good gas tank.

I'll take him on a fairly decisive points win.

 

I had to go for Canelo sorry,he survives 12 rounds and gets 119-109 x3.The man cant lose on the scorecards ever.

Jacobs has been down before and out but Canelo is not big puncher at 154,let alone 160.So it will go the distance and then...u know already.

I think Canelo throws good combinations but lacks stamina and fights on spurts,losses so many rounds by throwing 2-3 power shots and bobbing and weaving rest of those rounds.

 

I could see Jacobs boxing circles around Canelo if he wanted to. I can also see him fighting a phone booth fight with him if he wanted to.

in other words, he could slug it out or box.

 

Jacobs wins, on paper. Canelo wins, on the judges paper.

Jacobs. Too athletic, too consistently active, too big.

He can take away Canelo's ability to bully and out muscle opponents, he can fight at a pace that makes Canelo uncomfortable and has the prowess to not only beat him off the back foot but also achieve parity if they were to hold centre ring and slug it out.

 

canelo has hit his peak. stop all this nonsense abuot him improving leaps and bounds after every fight

 

Jacobs has qualities that works in his favor & negates Canelo's qualities.

1) size - Jacobs' size negates Canelo's ability to bully him
2) work rate & gas tank - this one is crucial. Jacobs has a busier work rate whereas Canelo doesn't. Jacobs could fight a whole round whereas Canelo fights half a round. so when round after round, Canelo is forced to fight back entire roynds against a busy Jacobs, it's gonna work against Canelo.
3) foot speed - Jacobs has Canelo beat in foot speed by a fair margin. Canelo's cement food will work in Jacob's favor. he could get in, get out in exchanges with Canelo.
4) hand speed - about even
5) reach - Jacobs has Canelo beat in this also. Jacobs has a fine jab. he could pot shot Canelo or try to set up his strong hooks with it.


actually I think stylistically , Jacobs could be worse for Canelo than GGG was.

 

Lmfao @ ppl picking Jacob over Canelo lol. Just cause Jacob barely lost to Ggg means Jacob could beat canelo? Lolol please. Jacob ain't a really good slick fighter in which he's there to get hit. Plus Jacob has a shaky chin. Canelo would easily beat Jacob if they ever fought. I won't be surprised if canelo wins it by stoppage cause if mora can knock down Jacob? Imagine what canelo would do if he lands a big shot to Jacob weak chin? Omg.
