I don't want to derail a thread but this made me laugh. Whatever people see in HF beats the hell out of me.
I have seen no footage of Martin so can't comment however it sounds like exciting times Billy. All the best to you both on your journey
Hughie is a very good fighter but peter would freely admit Martin gave him by far and away his best work in camp
Best of luck billy. Doesnt look quick enough or explosive enough to beat joshua also looks like hes gonna be too laid back for the game. If he doesnt shake that off he,ll get beat by someone he shouldnt be losing to. Hope i m wrong tho. Will tune in on the 7th. Looks like hes got the raw materials to go quite far tho. Bit of a statement beating joshua....whats the set up billy. The problem with beating guys like joshua is...your up against it cause they ve got a well oiled team in place all working together. Best Nutritionists. Best Sports scientist. Best Physios. Best sparring partners. Best gyms. Great trainer in mckracken. Access to university/sports science facilities etc. Your all up against it. Its hard to match tbh.
High praise or total idiocy to claim a guy who has fought only 2 guys with winning records can clean out the UK heavyweight scene right now. Good luck but something tells me he won't make it.
Yes you can have all that but as klitchko showed you get hit you go down the difference being Martin is 15 years younger and he would keep him down in a situation like that, AJ is a excellent fight so is Martin beleive me. To say Martin isn't quick enough made me chuckle I've never seen a heavyweight quicker personally and I think once you see him you will change your mind
The top heavyweights in the country that he's sparred with would tell you how good he is, I know people say sparring don't matter it does
I agree for a big heavyweight his speed is exceptional, to say otherwise and having actually watched him is ridiculous.
From what I have seen I would have to respectfully disagree. For a fighter the same size as HF and AJ, he is quick. His head movement as well is up there with the best I have seen. That part of his game reminds me a bit of a prime Haye. My only negative at the moment, is his accuracy. He seems to miss from close range with too many shots when trying to end a fight. Obviously when he is fighting better opponents that will leave him open to counters. Just my honest opinion, I am no boxing coach though.
Quality looking forward to watching him properly. Think i watched about two or three minutes of the guy late last night in two different fights. Cant quite put my finger on it but its maybe his thinkings slow more than his actual speed. Not knocking the guy. Cause looks like theres a lot more going for him than the other way about. Especially with a lot of time to develop at 21...must have had the worlds hardest paper round btw. People got to remember joshuas hand speed is pretty rapid nowadays when he lets them hands go. Is it maybe martins not putting his shots together. As in its all singles. Thats making me think hes slower than he is. I think joshua would more struggle with guys that are throwing 2,s and 3,s. But different ways to skin a cat. Would need to watch a bit more of him. Hope it goes well tho billy.
Both things i did notice mate. Head movement is very good. Accuracy does look like its needing a bit work. No sure how early the fights we,re i watched tbf.
