I get that, but Wilder's first twenty or so fights were of such a low level that there was very little chance of his being upset, and even then he was knocked down and hurt. A lot of his fights therefore can be discarded as nothing fights whereas the same can't be said of either Parker or Joshua. That isn't to say that they didn't fight gimmes early in their career, but they stepped up a lot sooner, while Wilder languished in nowheresville racking up meaningless KOs over complete nobodies. Longevity in that manner proves nothing.

Wilder's last ten fights are the only ones that can really be said to be semi-risky, and he's looked very vulnerable in more than one. I think it's very clear his longevity and undefeated record are not really as big a plus point as one might think, when comparing him to the other belt holders in the division.

We know Parker is better than Hughie Fury and 23 others. How many more he can beat only time will tell.

Three of my top six (Tyson Fury, Ortiz & Povetkin) are teetering on the brink of irrelevancy.

Wilder will annihilate Ortiz thereby removing him as a factor in the division.

The three guys with the belts are the ones to watch.

Parker is far and away the best heavyweight Hughie has fought and as we saw Hughie came up well short.

The biggest fight of 2018 is Anthony Joshua v Deontay Wilder.

Two unbeaten heavyweight champions with potent offensive capabilities & suspect chins.

    What's not to like?

I favour Joshua b/c he's clearly the physically stronger of the two but there's no doubt Wilder has the capacity to deliver a massive payload to Joshua's chin that could turn the fight his way (or end it) in an instant.

Parker should be positioning himself to be the most attractive opponent out there for the winner in 2019.

Parker is capable of doing that but it's going to take good management & steady improvement on his part to get him there.

If I was Team Parker, I would try to get a fight with Whyte in the UK. Because...
    1. its a massive money fight for Parker.
    2. the winner would have to fight Joshua for sure
    3. If Parker bears Whyte, it raises his stock & exposure in the UK significantly and only builds up a Joshua/Parker fight.
    4. Whyte would take that fight. He wants a world title shot badly.

if all else fails, maybe Parker should fight the winner of Haye/Bellew 2 for a massive UK fight.

I'd give the UK a miss for the time being.

Kayo the Jap heavy in Tokyo before the year is out then face Top Rank heavies as the house fighter in Las Vegas (where Parker is based) next year.

Plenty of good opposition (and sparring) in the US to get him on the improve.

At the moment I don't really rate Parker at all. I think if he beat Povetkin then it would be hard to deny he is actually half way decent despite his rawness and flaws.

If we can believe what we hear, that's not happening.
