    Bivol destroyed Berridge himself.

Just checked and he's #11 in their rankings, 10 when they remove Cleverly. Seriously why not somebody higher up? Gvozdyk, Barrera and Murat are all available.

I can only assume Gvozdyk and Barrera are maybe lining something up for the vacant WBO, nothing else makes much sense.

I heard rumors that Gvozdyk & Barrera were supposed to fight for the other vacant title. so that's their excuse I guess.

Looks like they skipped Barrera and went for this bum instead?

Yeah they're ranked #2 and #5 respectively by the WBO but Barrera will likely have moved up a place or two due to Skoglund losing the other day and Beterbiev who is #2 is going down the IBF route contesting the vacant title against Koelling. Kovalev is ranked #1 by the WBO but Gvozdyk and he are friends so they're not going to square off with each other unless they really have to.

    WBO Rankings

    1. Sergey Kovalev
    2. Artur Beterbiev
    3. Olexander Gvozdyk
    4. Erik Skoglund
    5. Sullivan Barrera
    6. Marcus Browne
    7. Enrico Koelling
    8. Anthony Yarde
    9. Karo Murat
    10. Manuel Ceballos

I know everyone's on the Bivol bandwagon in this thread but maybe he wanted the easier option...who knows

Apparently one of the stipulations in Jack's contract to fight Cleverly was that he had to vacate the belt if he won.

Pretty shady from Bivol + team if true

    Where did you hear that?

I'd favour Bivol to beat Barrera. Tough fight for both but IMO he would.
