Right now with Ward retired Crawford is the logical p4p no.1 with his achievement of becoming the first undisputed champ in over a decade. Loma is in most people's p4p based of skills as his competition has been good but not great.

With Rigo now being 36, inactive (only two rounds of action in over 2 years), jumping up two weight divisions to fight the consensus best fighter at 130 on promoters card who dislikes him. If he pulls off the win where does he go and why?

For me considering both men are two of the most accomplished amateurs in history in history, if Loma wins he will move into my top 3 p4p but if Rigo wins with all these disadvantages he goes straight into the no.1 spot.

    Thoughts?

    He'd top it for me.
Loma is already #1 for me so it's logic

If Rigo KOs Loma, it will not be shocking (although less likely).

Rigo can only win by KO, because Loma is not someone you can outbox & even if some how Rigo outboxes Loma, nobody likes Rigo, fans, promoters, Raul, ex-manager...etc. So judges will favor Loma in any type of decision.

Rigo has power in both hands, he was never pushed to go all out. If he tries to slug it out, he might come up with a better result than Gamboa, because the size diff is not that big. Rigo is very small at 130, but Loma is also not that big & a light puncher. It will be very unwise of Rigo to try to do anything else...

Probably number 1 to be honest, that would be a huge huge win. At least top 3

I see 2% chance of Rigo beating Loma, I just don't see what he can do to beat Loma, he has a weak chin, cocky fighting style... he will need to change his style for this fight or he will get ktfo, if he fights with his hands down like he always does he is getting knocked spark out with Loma's accuracy, Loma's footwork is just as good if not better than Rigo's so he will have a hard time getting away from Loma, Loma is just as quick and his accuracy is one of the best in boxing. I can't see Rigo winning, simply for the fact that he will not beat Loma while fighting his favourite defensive style.

Seeing as he has a tiny chance of winning if he were to pull it off you would have to give him a whole lot of credit right?

Yeah, I'd put him p4p number 1, ofc it depends on the way he would beat Loma, if it is a lucky shot after Loma domination then I would give him much less credit, but if Rigo dominates Rounds and toys with Loma then he would be p4p number 1 for sure.

In a fight between ultra technical boxers, there is no luck or lucky shots. Rigo has no chance except by turning it into a slug-fest, landing a clean KO punch will not happen under any other circumstances

If it happens, it will not be lucky. It will show that Rigo is better than most of us assumed

Top 5, I think Crawford and GGG have done more to deserve #1

Seems your setting a strict guideline for how he can win, if he has as small a chance as you say then long as he pulls off the victory all the credit should go his way. In boxing no such thing as a lucky shot, if you a throw a punch you give yourself the chance of landing and if you dont believe in that shot or put the right intent behind it you will not hit the target the way you wanted it to.

Who have Crawford or GGG beat that are top 5 p4p? Not saying your wrong, just neither have standout wins maybe GGG with the jacobs fight but that was very close for my money so a rematch is justified.

I think maybe you're under-estimating how good the fighters they beat were.

It's easy looking back and thinking yea they were easy wins, but at the time people like Gamboa and Lemieux were tough fights and some of the best in their division.

I'd go GGG/Crawford (Not sure who'd be 1 and 2) then Rigo 3rd if he beat Loma
