How would a prime Joe Louis fare against SHW Puncher Frank Bruno

    Frank Bruno gave Tyson a tough fight and was outboxing Lennox Lewis until the end. Would Bruno's size and strength and power be too much for the Brown Bomber or would Bruno be stopped by a prime Joe Louis?

    No one is saying that Bruno wins, but Buddy Baer did floor Louis. I would pick Louis, I'm just asking how does the fight proceed up until the end.

    Joe Louis would KO Frank Bruno even if he suffers KD early in the fight.

    Bruno wasn`t that good in the Tyson fight compared to the performance Douglas gave two fights down the line, Louis would have KO`d the sloppy Tyson that fought Bruno. Lewis didn`t improve until Steward came along after the McCall fight and we saw what Lewis did in a rematch with McCall. Louis knocked out big guys like Buddy Baer and Primo Carnera so a bigger fighter like Bruno wouldn`t absorb punches that well so it would a case of who lands first, Louis handspeed was way faster than Bruno`s, he was a better combination puncher with a better defense, Bruno`s only hope would be to use his reach advantage and keep pumping his jab, but he would eventually gas because he had stamina problems, always has a punchers chance, but Louis all day long at least 9 times out of 10, it would be like Dempsey vs Willard.

    Buddy may have been a better fighter than Bruno though.

    Bruno had a punches chance but Louis would win nine times out of ten.

    I'm not so sure about that. Bruno was actually a pretty good technician with a telephone pole like jab. AJ actually reminds me of what Bruno would have been if he were quicker, more fluid and put his punches together better.

    Bruno would jab at Louis for the first couple of rounds, as he did lennox and make it even. But at some point, around the fifth, Joe would connect hard and Bruno s senses would be scrambled. Frank stopped on the ropes with no chance of recovery.
