Haye was in his prime @ CW, and was a massive hitter there.

How would Haye from back then fare in the modern CW Division?

Who does he beat? Who beats him? Would he be a champ?

Haye would be a nite-mare for any cruiser champ of past.

I would put a few ahead of him such as Holy etc, but I still think it would be a great fight,,

In today's crop I still think he would be a champ, maybe Usyk could beat him, I will wait until the end of this tourney to decide.

For all his faults he was a electric hitter.

In before the Usyk fan boys...

Potentially he beats them all. But there are lots of 50/50 fights in there... Including Usyk.

He could definitely be a champ... After all Bellew is/was....

    That's a real good question.

I think he'd lose to Usyk, Gassiev and possibly Perez. Dorticos continues to look good but I want to see him chin tested a bit more. CW Haye-Briedis is a damn fine fight

He would dominate the division, Usyk would be a challenge.

I think he would have a really hard time.
He went life and death with that French dude, and got dropped a couple of times by others. Certainly guys like Gassiev and Dorticos would be nightmare matchups for him, and Breidis and Usyk (all hail the feel!) would have been able to give him fits. Plus there are quite a bunch of other dangerous guys around.

Cruiser is much, much stronger now as it was in his era. Probably stronger as any Cruiser era.

The cruiserweight division is alot stronger now than when Haye was champion, having said that he'd still win a belt but I don't think he'd be "the man" so to speak.

I'd favour Usyk over him....also Briedis.

Gassiev and Dorticos look good, there would definitely be some great match ups to be made.

Prime Haye's spatial awareness, timing, and ability to slip punches were some of his most underrated attributes so I believe he'd be considered one of the top technicians in the division (top 3 with Usyk and Briedis), but he'd also have the fastest hands and one of the biggest punches at 200lbs owing to his obvious physical prowess. Add all that together and he'd easily be a top contender in the current division.

I'd make him a slight favourite over the likes of Briedis, Gassiev and Dorticos, a fight with Usyk would be a pick 'em.

There's some close fights in there but I make prime Haye favourite in them all.

Don't let that imposter that's going through the motions at heavyweight just now fool you, prime Haye was an incredible fighter.

Usyk, Gassiev, Briedis, Dorticos and few others will beat Yarde without any problems. Im not impressed by Yarde at all.

As for Haye, I think he has chance against anyone but knowing that at his peak he was floored by past-prime Mormeck makes the things interesing. He wouldn't have been undefeated in the current CW division, IMO.

There are far more technical fighters in cruiserweight these days. It's amazing what a couple of years can do considering how weak this division was. Haye in his prime could cause a few problems with his power but he isn't technical enough to compete with these new guys
