    I follow him on facebook. Lets just say that he absolutely cant stand Haymon and the PBC. His bias is very evident. Even though this crook was heavily involved with Don King, the worst of the worst promoters.

    Glaser said that May Pac did 3.2 million buys, and today ******* reported 4.4 million buys.

    Glasers bogus numbers never got any attention until GGG detractors started grasping onto 97k.

    As per @Sugar 88: Rick Glaser is full of ****.

    The key difference between what I've said above is that should I be asked and so inclined I could easily produce evidence that I what I've said is indeed correct.

    Glaser numbers are always consistent, although he always reported the lowest number possible. The fight definitely did around 1.5M. A big success I think.

    The problem is, they rarely ever release official numbers. As such, I tend to believe Rick's numbers are probably closer to the mark than the rumored numbers that are never otherwise officially verified.

    @Manfred @Rumsfeld

    Glaser doesn't have any inside sources anymore, he just makes up a low number on the assumption that the ESPN/HBO/Showtime rumours exaggerate the true number.

    He expected Canelo-GGG to only do just over 1M officially, so last week said it was 750k. This week Fat Dan said it was over 2M so he realized that his number was unrealistically low and no one would believe him, so he upped it to over 1M.

    While it's perfectly reasonable to believe that some inflation of the numbers could be happening, there's is no reason to believe Glaser who just makes up his #s. Besides, Glaser was already proved wrong several times, including the Canelo-Khan fight.

    Has there ever been an official release from HBO and/or Showtime that is drastically higher than Rick's number?

    I'm not saying you're wrong, but am curious. I think one of the bigger problems going on (and I'm mostly speculating) is that historically, these numbers were based on estimates that were computed in such a way that it produces a range of numbers. Promoters will exaggerate these numbers, in instances when they know HBO or Showtime won't make an official release.

    But my understanding is (and I may well be incorrect), if HBO or Showtime release numbers, they legally have to be honest - whereas that's not true with promoters.

    And using ranged estimates is probably something out of an earlier era where getting an exact count was an exercise in futility.

    Anyway, if Canelo-Khan #'s were officially released by HBO (and I have no idea if they were or not), and those numbers were considerably higher than Rick's, then I am definitely inclined to be 100% on-board with what you are saying. It's just that, to my limited knowledge, no cable company has ever directly contradicted him with a significantly higher number.

    But if 1 or more example of this exists, then it probably does invalidate Rick's numbers, just as you said.

    So with Canelo-Khan, the full revenue of the fight was released for tax purposes by the lead promoter, Golden Boy, as they were legally forced to release it because of the court case. The PPV revenue was consistent with just under 600k buys as reported by ESPN, not the 322k by Glaser. There was a thread on here about it but I couldn't find it just now.

    Also, Showtime reported 4.6M for May-Pac while Glaser had it at only 3.2M.
