If Joshua and Wilder were to meet it would need to be a 60/40 purse split.

50/50 is fair. Wilder has a belt, and it will be his last payday.

Gotta be in the UK if they want to maximise how much earn. I'd like to see it in Vegas or New York. A bit of defences away from home is a nice thing for these legacies they keep going on about.

Question to the Americans on the forum... in all seriousness who is more popular in the states (outside of Alabama) AJ or Wilder?

And would AJ vs Wilder be PPV in the states? How much interest would there be do you guys reckon.

Selfishly I want it in the UK but if it sold in the states I could see the business sense in AJ making it his first fight stateside.

Great, another excuse for Deontay to avoid AJ.

It`s better to get 30% or 40% of something than 100% of nothing. Wilder would do well to remember that.

Considering Joshua/Wlad had at least a combined purse of £30 million a 40% split based on those numbers would mean Wilder getting £12 million or $16 million. Considering Wilder's biggest purse to date is only $1.5 million, if he gets anywhere near that he'll be delirious with joy.

90/10 would be fair based on their actual drawing power but Hearn will need to sweeten the pot to get Wilder to agree to a unification fight, otherwise he'll just keep milking his belt.

60-40 or 70-30 is fine but it should be ppv at wembley stadium. I don't think it will do as well if it were to be at the States.

Spot on. If Wilder beats Ortiz, his stock will rise. But not exponentially, more amongst hardcore fans, casuals have no idea who Luis Ortiz is.

AJ barely gets any press here. No one knows he's this huge draw over in England or anything. They'd probably be shocked to know he'd be considered the A-side. Even less people know who Tyson Fury is.

Among the American public, I'd say they at least know who Wilder is, since he's had many fights on national tv and he has some hype as an undefeated Heavyweight "champion".

    Joshua would take 50/50

His the kind of guy that would take the 50% to get the fight made for the glory.

Wilder however would likely ask for an unrealistic purse to avoid AJ

My guess would be that he looks for a $10m guarantee. Would he be willing to get his ass locked in front of 90,000
Brits for that money? I reckon he would. Still there's no guarantee he gets past Luis 'The OG OAP' Ortiz who despite having a birth certificate written in stone and being a friend to God during the the almighty's colleg years packs a skill set and punch beyond anything Wilder has previously encountered in a professional ring.

Lol. Have you missed the part where AJ sold 90,000 tickets v Wlad an just sold out another 70k arena in Cardiff.

Not forgetting the insane PPV numbers AJ does.

Wilder has no claim to anything.

Deontay will be the first boxer in history to demand a 100/0 split as well as step aside money for his own fight.
