I hope it's not Hunter, the guy's career is based on 1 boxer in Ward who would prosper no matter who trained him, every other fighter he's trained has gone backwards. Fingers crossed for Garcia.
If I were his manager I'd want Tommy Brooks, and offensive minded trainer for Kovalev. And as his manager, get him better sparing partners. Kovalev is a little lazy.
I wouldn't rule out a Russian coach considering the distrust Kov feels now after the two Ward disasters.
A few years back in Ft Worth Tx I had a few words with Roger. He was there with Ed Hopson who was due to fight Troy Dorsey. Troy had to drop out with a rib injury & rge found a Mexican fighter Angel Aldama He was a tough kid & feather fisted Hopson was losing it coz he couldn't put him away Hopson started the dirty stuff low blows head butts etc . One opened a nasty gash over Aldama's eye, I started yelling to ref Jerry McKenzie DQ the jerk. Rpger heard me & started in on me sayimg Hopson was a future champion. I laughed & said " No way in hell " Roger took offense. Lou Duva suddenly spoke up " Roger sit down & shut up the man is right " Not another peep lol Good guy Lou. I was right Hopson was a flash in the pan never amounted to anything
Only one I want to see train him is Anatoly Lomachenko but that's an impossibility. Other than Loma Sr, big fat Egis could train him for all I care. They all have train wreck written all over them.
