Canelo wont fight for another 8 MONTHS! WTF

I remember when Golden Boy went back to HBO, they said Canelo would fight 3 times a year with a least 1 fight not being PPV. The only fight we got on normal HBO is the Kirkland fight in 2015.

 

That seems to be the MO for a boxer that has reached "superstar" status. GGG seems to be heading that route as well, so no need to be hypocritical.

Bottom line, We would all be doing the exact same thing if in their shoes.

 

it's simple...he doesn't need to. He has a network to back him, and two dates per year saved for him. It's somewhat disappointing, but it is what it is. Even ODLH fought more regularly past canelo's current age, despite being much more popular. Diva's gonna diva....

 

Well no as according to Canelovers Golovkin only has 5 fans and they all post here. Nearly everyone however has started calling out the BS judging he gets including the majority of his own fans who booed his last result in the arena. I mean it's not like Golovkins 5 fans sold out the arena is it?

 

there is only a handful of fights he will be willing to make from here on out. he will only be interested in big money fights and there really aren't many at 160. he will be after low risk high reward and big money fights.

 

GGG can not generate the gate revenue or ppv revenue Canelo does. You are comparing apples with oranges.

Canelo will probably fight only on May 5th and Sept 16th until he retires. There is no other reason to fight more than those two big PPV dates.

While I wished fighters fought more often, I can't blame them for not, especially when they are millionaires.
