Sky have backed boxing from day 1 though. The problem was multiple promoters managed to mess up causing Sky to revaluate there boxing coverage. The cull then happened and they decided to bet on Matchroom solely to deliver the goods and that has turned out to be a great decision. Warren got lazy when he was with Sky, got complacent and paid the price. The good thing about Hearn is, his always pushing to get bigger. He isn't resting on his laurels, always hustling.
When the cash runs out. Reckon they’ll try and make him the new Frampton. Spending ££££ on him is maybe why they dropped Conrad. Outside of boxing reasons etc, I feel bad for him. He’s a lovely big fella. Hope he can get something sorted soon, maybe follow Carl to MTK.
Where does this nonsense come from? Frank left SKY of his own accord. He was clear'y unhappy with the environment. Frank wanted to do bigger and better things so he set up BoxNation. The channel is still work in progress. Although there have been some great shows. How is setting your own channel getting complacent?

Sky decided they were not going to deal with multiple promoters anymore and went exclusive with Matchroom. Before they had Maloney, Warren, Hearn, Hatton all with TV dates and the problem was we were fed small arena shows lacking in quality. Yes Warren walked away but that was down to Sky cutting his dates and his budget. Why was that? If Warren was delivering there would of been no need. Warren started box Nation as he had no other network to go to. Terrestrial TV wasn't interested, ESPN wasn't interested and he had no other choice. Even when BT came on the scene its not as if they called frank Warren and got him signed to to a deal. BT decided to get into boxing after seeing matchroom boxing being successful on Sky.
Sky had no intention of going with an exclusive promoter until BoxNation was set up. It was Eddie who pitched the idea to them. Frank's last show on SKY did higher ratings than 70% of Eddie's since. And he was selling out arenas two months before he left. Frank continued packing out arenas in BoxNation's first year. Frank still had the best stable in Britain 18 months after he left SKY. Eddie really started to grow once he got the exclusive deal.
