As much as I don't care for him, I think he wins a few here. How many?

 

All of them would have probably beaten him! Foreman punched much harder than him and had a better jab, Holmes still had a better jab, Mercer out jabbed a slightly green Lewis which would be enough to outdo Ruiz, before Mercer fought Lewis he wasn`t that good losing to an out of shape Holmes so at that stage Ruiz might have won, when McCall beat Lewis Steward trained him to time his right hand counters when Lewis threw lazy rights that had crept into his game, Steward would have easily worked out Ruiz but the rest of McCall`s career without Lewis was crap even George Benton couldn`t help him in his rematch vs Lennox, Ruiz would have beat that McCall then given him a dummy! LOL! Moorer was the best of this bunch but was too chiny to avoid Foreman`s long clever power blows but Ruiz didn`t have that in his locker.

 

Maybe one if someone had an off night.

 

The only safe bets to beat him are Holmes and Moorer.

Ruiz was a pain to watch but knew how to spoil to win and his record tells the tale. His wins are nothing to scoff at; Golota, Rahman, Oquendo and a still serviceable Holyfield.

He'd probably manage to squirm around to a decision victory against old Foreman. Mercer was inconsistent as hell - dude lost to Jesse Ferguson of all people. He was pretty simple-minded in the ring and couldn't adapt when someone wouldn't play his game and brawl. Ruiz might take that. Same applies to McCall.

Funnily enough, as much as Morrison gets hated on here lately, I think the Duke would strech him out.

Of course, he may also just walk away with a 0-6.

 

Most likely goes 0-6, though there's a chance he could outwork a sleepy McCall.

 

Moorer is the only clear favorite to me. I give Ruiz a slight edge in the rest.

 

It's hard to tell is Ruiz allow use Greco Roman wrestling?

Zero. Even IF he's allowed to use his illegal holding tactics, attempts multiple times to fake low blows AND has Don King's judges waiting to turn in their pre-filled scorecards at the end.

Ruiz getting severely underrated here. He was a consistent top level performer as proven by results, not the aesthetic wishes of the rabble.

He could very well sweep this field.

 

Plus his ****ing manager that would terrorize refs that didn't allow Ruiz to utilize his filthy, stalling tactics. Could not agree more, Zakman

 

Apart from the horrendously premature stoppage vs Oquendo and farce DQ against K Johnson an argument could be made that Ruiz lost every single one of his notable fights.

 

Future generations will understand his genius.

Nay, they will revere it.

 

You may well be correct seamus.. Fifty years from now they will speak of Ruiz in terms of awe. The 3 fight series of Ali v Frazier and gatti and ward will be all but forgot.. But Holyfield and Ruiz?.. NEVER!
