Agreed, the added muscle definitely did not help. I think he was probably banking on scoring a KO. He did show tons of heart and will in the championship rounds by landing more of the cleaner power punches in the clutch.

Commentators said he's built like a tank, can't say I've ever seen anything like Canelo and whilst he always made weight being the pro he is I never bought that "he's no middleweight"thing as the truth is he's a short, stocky super middleweight who still had to cut lots of weight to make 160.
Wasn't there some funny **** at the weigh in with Canelo?

Anyway regardless I kinda of agree,Canelo can only fight in spurts whereas Golovkin has always put a pace on that guys struggle to match no matter their age,Golovkin in my opinion doesn't really have to worry about what Canelo can bring as the guy just doesn't know how to lose, now against some great boxer, mover ala Mayweather he could struggle but against mere mortals if they try and go toe to toe GGG wins and if they try running he still wins as the judges like the aggressor,Canelo would have to find another 20% to even look like he was legitimately competitive cause had he looked like this he'd of got the win.

I agree but if he does he better ensure there is no foul play to the best of his ability.

golovkin will know what he has to do in the rematch and thats from the bell make canelo work at a much higher pace he now knows canelo cant hurt him and that he can fight for a full round and his stamina is terrible

    higher pace
blocked canelo shots and land when he can
    dont forget the body shots

I have no idea how anyone can be confident GGG wins a rematch. Especially considering he will be a year older and Cucknelo will get every close round on the judges cards. The guy just won 9 rounds and walked away with a draw FFS. You do not think cocaine Oscar will just up the ante by stacking the deck even the next time around?

GGG is getting battered in the rematch. Despite his performance against Canelo he took a career changing beating. Bump this post after the rematch.

The reason he resorted to head hunting was because Canelo was landing 40% of his power punches. If GGG opens up even more by trying to hit a lower target exposing his chin even more Canelo will be landing at a higher % than 40.

dont see why his chin will not hold up to get some body shots in

There is a reason why he neglected the body. Throwing body punches is not very easy when you have a fast precise puncher like Canelo shooting off fast power punches.

Canelo will beat him much easier in the rematch.

Yeah? Much easier? Think it will be 11-1 or maybe a shutout at 12-0 next time?

Plus, I think that he will have figured out a way to drop that right hand on Canelo when he has him running to the left on the ropes. I think that he's gonna feint him and step with him then unload that right hand.

That's an interesting point. I believe Abel told GGG to try and turn it into a hook. It was a good bit of defense on Canelos part. I'd have to watch it again but it seemed like Canelos gaurd was down most of the time when he pulled it off. If GGG does as you suggest, and starts landing those rights clean, Canelo will go to sleep.
