I'm not sure Margarito has a better win than Lemieux other than Cotto (maybe helped by plaster wraps) and Maravilla (green as grass in an experience mismatch versus a bad style for him anyway) - what's his third best win? Or rather, best win without an asterisk? (that rules out Clottey, who fought injured for the entire second half and was kicking Margarito's ass before that).

Cintron? Is he better than N'Dam N'Jikam?

Are you kidding me?? Margarito is like a 3 time world champion with about 10 title fights won and names like Miguel Cotto, Kermit Cintron, Andrew Lewis, Sergio Martinez, and Joshua Clottey. Also, Margarito's hand was ALSO injured against Clottey so I would say they fought on even terms.

Lemieux won a paper title and failed to successfully defend it.

    Margarito > Lemieux No comparison

This should be a great fight but I kind of hate it in a way because I’m a big fan of both Lemieux and Cotto, and I hate to see one of them lose. But I guess I really can’t root against Cotto in his final fight...although I would have to slightly favor Lemieux here.

Lemieux can afford the loss. There's such a poverty of star power at 160lbs that he could get D-Rodded by Cotto and still be Canelo's or Jacobs' or GGG's dance partner in a PPV by like mid-2018 after one or two bounceback fights knocking out fringe contenders on ESPN

cotto might go in to survival mode and lose a decision in which he will run out of the ring crying that he was robbed.

Havent seen how much Cotto has left.

Im a huge Lemeiux fan, but havent followed boxing that closely in some time, now.

My take is how much Cotto has left, because he is a way better boxer than Lemeiux. But if he is shot, Lemieux might murder him. But i dont think David can decision him.

Lemieux doesn't have the chin nor the skills to trouble an elite fighter, let alone an elite fighter with Cotto's skillset.

Lemeiux fights in straight lines, he only knows how to come forward, he paws, paws, and hooks (repeat over and over). Lemieux also has very little to no defense. His ONLY chance at beating Cotto is landing a hail-mary punch.

Good post. The only way I see DL beating MC is if Cotto is shot. Not a knock on DL who I am a fan of too, Cotto is just in a different level.

I didn't think it was a bad match, I as just appalled by the idea of it being on PPV, IIRC I laid out a vague scenario on some thread making a case for Kirkland. Cotto, Canelo and GGG fans alike on the thread didn't seem to thrilled about it, because Kirkland's chin is that bad and most see him as a spent poorly managed force at this point, whereas Lemieux is seen as prime and ready killing machine finally reaching his full potential, especially after the Stevens win, although he took a minor step backwards with Reyes.

Monroe Jr., Wade, Ishida, Macklin, Proksa and Rosado all most likely lose to Cotto. Welp.... there goes that theory.

That has nothing to do with what I posted since none of those guys are fighting Cotto. To prove your ass wrong for the umpfteen time there are posts scattered all around this forum claiming that Canelo (who is superior to Cotto) would lose to Monroe, Rosado, Macklin, and Ishida made by you GGG fanboys.

No, I have a who I think will win agenda. I base my predictions on sound logic, reason and rationale, which is why I was right about Golovkin beating Canelo, and your method failed.
