Gabriel Montoya is one of the champion journalists in drug usage in boxing. Maybe there is something we don't know yet and the fight might still can be salvaged.
Basically he urged people not to jump to conclusion about Ortiz positive test.
We shall see what happen in the coming days.

    I looked it up myself.

It's true that WADA doesn't list Losartan at all -- at least from what I found -- and only restricts Atenolol in sports like archery (not boxing).

However, WADA does list chlorothiazide and hydrochlorothiazide as banned for all sports:
    https://www.wada-ama.org/en/prohibited-list/prohibited-at-all-times/diuretics-and-masking-agents

So I'm a little confused as to how this gets a pass.

EDIT: Upon further research, Ortiz was on "Losartan HCTZ," which is a combo of Losartan and hydrochlorothiazide (two separate chemicals). Losartan appears to be fine, while hydrochlorothiazide is explicitly banned. Obviously the combo is probably not okay.

Does this mean Ortiz just posted proof that he's taking a banned substance (Losartan HCTZ)?

And are these Twitter experts idiots, or am I?

Aah.. at this rate Wilder might not fight top contenders and eclipse Joe Louis number of defenses.

I saw a video of a doctor in Florida explaining what the blood pressure drug was, he did not understand VADA calling it a PED, it is not a PED, but Wilder hopes to make people believe it is. Remember when they framed Povetkin? VADA cleared Povetkin, yet the WBC's job is to protect Wilder at all costs, so they would not allow Povetkin to knock Wilder out. Did you notice that out of all the winos from the alley Wilder has fought, not one of them has tested for PEDS! (They were probably full of wine?) 5 voluntary title defenses in a row, a record, take that fake title away from Wilder, he did not earn it and Stiverne did not deserve to be ranked mandatory. How in the hell did Stiverne get ranked at all? Boxing is corrupt. Wilder will not fight Joshua, if that fight is made, they will frame Joshua also. Joshua will knock that fraud out!

Ahh hate to burst your bubble Farmy but what about Wawryzk? Wilder pulled him 'deep' out of the alley and he tested positive for something I cant recall.

Out of all Wilders doping opponents, Wawryzk was the only one that actually needed it IMO.

Always love how Conte and Montoya pose as these hardasses about drugs when it comes to guys not paying for VADA and have no problems at all throwing allegations left and right but will come up with excuse after excuse for some who pop dirty. The same thing happened when Berto's positive test came up, the same Berto who had hired Conte.

hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic, They flush water out of your system by making you pee all day long like crazy, so if you drink tonnes of water and take diuretics you will flush out any traces of other PEDS from your pee. They are also used for high blood pressure because the less total fluid you have in your blood vessels the lower your blood pressure will be. So while hydrochlorothiazide is not a PED it is used to mask PED's, So what his doctor is saying is correct but he is being clever and misleading. hydrochlorothiazide has zero performance enhancing benefits, but it can be used to flush out various other performance enhancing drugs very effectively. This is why its on the banned substance list.

hydrochlorothiazide can also be out of your system within 2-3 day's, much quicker than a lot of other peds it could be used to mask.

Taking hydrochlorothiazide to flush out and mask other drugs and using blood pressure meds that include that substance is a clever way to give a reason why the drug was found in your system if you actually get caught.

My first step would be to see Ortiz medical records and see if he really dose have high blood pressure. For me the fact he did not disclose the medication, the fact hes been caught before and the fact that a professional boxer has high blood pressure in the first place is highly suspicious.
