I had it the first day I came in the gym.
But it took me years before that to develop into a hard puncher.
    And it actually happened instantly.
I threw a punch once with some wicked snap in the shoulder. Feels like an internal violent explosion, except it doesn't hurt. Ever since then I could hit like a mule.

But I can tell some of you are in the mood to belittle and laugh.
So if that's what you're looking for, suck my balls!

Time to put that idiot on ignore.

Brilliant poster when it comes to all things old, but that's his problem: He's stuck in the past & thinks that everyone from yesterday knows everything.

He should stick to making videos, as he knows nothing about anything other than that.

    Sounds good ******.
Except I trained in an actual modern gym and sparred full on with modern fighters
Hard to be stuck in the past in that situation!

And you think Wilder got his power from KO'ing people on the streets of Atlanta.
    Amazing...

Reading comprehension, how does it work?
I wonder if it's as hard to figure out for some as power punching?

You're posts in this thread are insanely laughable. You don't honestly believe what you have been saying right? Nobody that isn't a pro fighter or trained martial artist hits as hard as a boxer. Even Paulie Malignaggi hits harder than any untrained "street fighter" out there. It really gives away your lack of real world experience when you say **** like this.

I've witnessed and taken part in my fair share of "street fights" and have yet to see anyone ever throw a punch correctly including myself. It wasn't until after I started boxing that I didn't get into anymore fights.

Rez is talking about technique and he is 100% correct. As soon as I learned correct technique (before even hitting the bags) I set myself a level above the "street fighters" in terms of punching power.

    Seriously. You're a joke.

You sure Deontay didn't just walk up to you on the street and KO you?
I heard he's trying to work on his power.

Howard Davis Jr was successful though and he knocked out successful fighters. If he didn't work on the skills he did and focused on trying to increase power then he would have been less successful.

You really don't think Howard Davis tried to learn how to throw punches with maximum leverage? Step back and really think about this for a second. There likely came a point very early in Davis' amateur career when it became clear that he already possessed extraordinary skills but lacked in punching power. The idea that: (a) he could have corrected his power problem by just spending a lot more time learning how to punch hard; but (b) doing so would have caused his other skills to atrophy just doesn't seem plausible to me.

Absolutely false. This is an extraordinary overstatement.

I watched Davis amateur and pro career. To say he had off the chart skills is a huge stretch. He had great speed and good movement and jab. Great AMATEUR skills and style. That style and skill set however did not translate well to the pro ranks. He never progressed as a pro.

Some of the hardest SOME ive met and fought werent boxers at all from pro stand points. The hardest hitters ive encountered were martial artists by far( not the FAKE ones and not many of them) Anyone claiming Paulie M. hits harder than any untrained boxer is a full blown idiot! Ive seen teenagers who hit harder than that guy. Most HW's will hit harder who weigh above 220 than guys that weigh below 200 on average.

on avg. a boxer will hit harder than most that doesnt mean you have to be a PRO or anything boxer to hit harder than someone...thats nonsense.

you cannot develope significant overall power by punching air either unless you have weights in your hand or are doing resistance /band type punching...shadow boxing simply doesnt produce or advance power to any relevant level...

For what it's worth, none of the many people who saw his hand-selected punching clips on these forums indicated that they found anything extraordinary about his punching power.
