IMO Ward was around at a time when boxing in the USA was at a low, bad promotion and bad management.

Great boxer with great names on the cv. I would have liked to see him go to crusierweight, 3 weight world champion and retire.

Got a sneaky feeling he will be back for one more fight.

Btw, history will be kind to Ward. It happens especially when time has passed and emotions have subsided.

This occurs for all the true greats. It happened for Ali, Lennox Lewis here in the states. It will happen for Floyd. Even RJJ is getting sucked off by ESPN who is trying to make a case that he's greater than Floyd. Ward will be praised too and OP and the rest of you haters will eat your words or be proven yet again that you DKSAB.

    Promise.

You really believe Ward is comparable to Floyd and Lewis?

And here you are spouting on about people not knowing anything about boxing!

Lewis and Floyd fought every challenger in different eras. Ward only conquered one era during the super six, that is it.

He fought one current gen fighter and then ran.

This keyboard warrior nonsense needs to stop. You're calling the man a coward, a man who's been punching people in the face since 12 years old. You're an idiot.

With that resume and history of being a winner at every level of the sport why wouldn't he be remembered positively? It's sad the people who claim to be knowledgeable about boxing try so hard to discredit and downplay how good Ward was. In an era when champions duck and cherry pick challengers Ward was able to beat all of the best super middleweight and light heavyweight easily with his last 2 fights being his toughest and the reason for the ridiculous amount of hate he gets.

In the realm of boxing he is what you'd call a certified coward.

A man who spends half of his career hiding and threatening to retire when he doesn't get his own way is not what I'd call courageous.

He was born into boxing, it was all he knew through his father who had given him access to all the best trainers and facilities since he was a boy. It isn't like he was the laymen who suddenly took it up out of sheer will. So don't give me this rubbish about being undefeated since he was 12.

Reading your post you seem to think that Ward owes the fans anything, He doesn't.

    Wrong.

I simply believe he took the easy way out and tarnished his own legacy by choosing to avoid the current era of top fighters within his proximity.

Had he continued on and fought the likes of GGG, Canelo, or Bellew or Joshua - the latter two, whose names he was using to bolster his own = he'd have propelled himself into an eternal great. However now he will remain on the fringes where only the hardcore underground fans acknowledge his existence and where the outer circle will know only him as the low blow champion..

Ward hasn't lost a fight since he was 12 years old and will likely be a first ballot hall of famer. History will be very kind to Andre Ward and so it should be.

SOB has won because of his cheating over the years, the judges in he first Kovalev fight and the referee in the in the rematch, Ward owned all officials. Three low blows that clearly landed on the letter on Kovalev's trunks that was below the belt which was below the belly button and Weeks knew it, that the reason Bob Bennett would not allow the video to be reviewed.

Im really truly not an Andre Ward fan, i was rooting for kovalev in both fights and i find his style to be incredibly boring and unappealing but anyone who isnt a pro fighter himself calling a professional boxer a coward is just a pompous arrogant arm chair quarterback. OP how many punches have you taken in your life?

LOL at GGG being a threat to Ward.

    If anything he avoided Beterbiev.

But Ward has no responsibility to keep on fighting and risking his life in the ring if he doesnt want to. His only responsibility is to himself and to his family. If he wants to call it quits then its his right to do so.

Even fighting once professionally is more than 99.999% of people on this forum have ever accomplished.
Boxing fans are so spoiled and arrogant.
This general forum has turned into a ****ing cesspool of entitled fat pricks who have never even sparred before but somehow have the balls to go call fighters cowards and quitters.
Funny how you Fighters and trainers, people who know how much effort it actually takes to become a top fighter, are much more reluctant to label other fighters as cowards.

Brilliant video, that needs to be watched by every single blind advocate of this lecherous fraud.
