With Spikes style I could easily see it being a shoot out straight away and over in 1 round..Lemieux obliterates spike !

It would be great if Jason & Spike do fight. For some reason domestic Irish blockbuster fights dont seem to get made. None of Maclin/Lee/Spike ever fought each other. Lets hope Quigleys hand has fully healed - by all accounts it was a ...very....serious injury.

Spike v Lemmy - (or even GGG but particularly Lemmy) would be exciting while it lasted (the short time it lasted!) but as you know Spike has only been successful at a far lower level than those guys and has lost when he jumps up to world level, unfortunately...

Spike v Lee would be great if it could get made though......:)

Agree, agree and really agree! I'd love to see Spike-Lee (no pun intended).:ggg I could see another Fitzgerald like win for Spike here, but I could also see another Jackson like win for Lee, so that right there screams why this match should be made.:D

spikes punch is gonna dessert him if he steps up a level ! its heavy at domestic level, but world class middles will not be too bothered !

The Spike-Lee pun occurred to me too - but it was so damn cheesy I couldn't bring myself to mention it! Ha ha.
Like you I feel the LEE - Spike fight is a cant-miss winner, and I'm baffled as to why it doesn't get pushed a bit more over here ..its a no-brainer! (Its a fight Spike could actually win too)

Spikes limited - but his power is genuine. Everyone who has sparred or fought him will attest to that - including super-middle and light heavies that spar him.

Not really, too limited - just that his actual power is genuine.

He doesn't strike me as someone who could turn a fight around with one punch..More like accumulation of naturally heavy handed shots does it..Imo if he meets a decent American journeyman over there he'll be done. They can play the irish angle and make him a few quid, but with his skills he has to tread carefully !

That's what I was thinking, if El Animal is harboring even a hint of glass (actually doesn't even need to be glass per se, let's call the ground floor minimum acceptable chin "well above-average", if he proves to have even a cunthair below that) he could get smelted in the heat, pressure & hammer-strikes of the O'Sullivan forge.

Spike claims that (while acknowledging it a bit of a fishy coincidence, but he swears it true) in his two prior losses to Saunders and Eubank Jr. he could have improved quite a bit on those performances as he in both happened to come in hampered with injuries. Take with a grain of salt if you like but he sounded to genuinely himself believe what he was selling. Not sure how much credit you want to give Spike for being a silver-tongued crafty snake oil salesman, I think he's probably a bit more straightforward myself.

If you enhance those performances even 15-20% then it makes for him being fairly competitive with (if perhaps still not having enough to outright defeat) BJS and CEJ, which does put him up near the upper echelon at middleweight.

I think the reason it's not pushed is because Lee's a level above him and unless he's really slipped a bit schools Spike bad then ko's him

Calling bollocks. Look, I like Andy Lee quite a bit in point of fact but he isn't a demonstrable "level" above one person at MW. He's the most inconsistent SOB you'll ever see. On a given night he could lose to a C- or beat an elite ace. The version that lost to Vera, or struggled mightily with McEwan or Haroche Horta, or got shut out for a few rounds each by Jackson and Korobov before landing the bail-out... that version of him is hardly standing on some pedestal where you can't say a rugged heavy-handed contender has a decent shot at beating him. Granted on his best nights Andy could blow away positively anyone including possibly Golovkin, so... a bit murky calling predictions when it comes to him.

The one that's a real cast of the die and completely unpredictable to me is Lee vs. Lemieux, holy Jesus. Could be anything from a KO1 for Dave to a prolonged boxing lesson type beat-down with multiple knockdowns leading to a mercy TKO11 for Andy, or anything in between.

Lee has more skill and the bigger one shot power over Spike, yeah he's rugged but I don't see it being enough against lee.
