Rate Vitali Klitschko punching power

He had very heavy and hurtful hands but not that one punch snap that could turn somebodies lights out. A very similar puncher to Foreman with a little less snap.

 

About a 7.

 

I rate him maybe at best a 7 .. he very rarely put anyone out with serious shots .. he beat them down with a ton of well placed shots .. his KO ratio is based on his competition, his overall effectiveness as a very good fighter and touch match to defeat ..

 

7 or 8. Danny williams said that the version of mike tyson he fought was a significantly more dangerous puncher than vitali. That being said Tyson lifted him off the floor with a left uppercut and Tyson hitting harder than him doesnt mean Vitali was featherfisted at all.

 

I say '8'. Not as hard as Vladimir, he was more of an accumulation puncher than a 1 shot KO artist, but he could certainly hit.

 

Vitali and Foreman should never be mentioned in the same sentence in terms of punching power unless you have no idea what you're talking about.

 

Tough call. Doesn't get nearly as much leverage in his punches as his brother, but punch for punch his blows clearly have more impact than the typical heavyweight. 7.5-8?

 

About an 8. It has to feel like a brick wall falling on you to take those punches...

Vitali isn't a one-punch guy obviously, but he has that clubbing, heavy type power.

He busted dudes up and kept them respectful. That's really where the rubber meets the road.

I'll never forget how shattered Arreola was after the beating he took. Frightful. Typically so proud, he was so beside himself he had no shame in wailing and sobbing..

And yes, him and Foreman do belong in the same sentence.

His size make the rating/point high.

 

Danny Williams who fought both Vitali and Mike Tyson said Tyson hit slightly harder, but Vitali was more consistent with his power.

Shannon Briggs who suffered broken bones in his face said Vitali hit harder than the George Foreman he fought.

Levi Billips who fought both Vitali and Lennox Lewis said Vitali hit harder.

Vitali visibly rocked Sam Peter much faster than Wlad did in either fight.

Universum, who had them both said Vitali hit harder.

So there you have it on the testimonials from three other fighters who faced guys that should rate as 9 or 10, plus the visuals on Peter, and there is no question how hard Wlad hit.

I'd say his power is a 9 out of 10, but he wasn't the type to over commit to his punches. Vitali was a patient man in the ring, and his power stayed with him until the final round.

 

LOL, you voted a 6. You have no clue my friend and see my above post on what Briggs said about Vitali and Foreman. Vitali nearly killed Briggs, broke his facial bones and had him in a coma where it was touch and go for a while/

 

I choose 6, he couldn't knocked Briggs out, even knocked down. And if he had hah a good punch (not less 8), he would have won Lewis.

 

I voted 6. Rahman doesn't rate higher than a 7 so how can you put Vitali over him based on the evidence on video?

Rahman dropped Sanders with a single shot and he flattened Lewis out cold with a single shot. Vitali detonated shot after shot into a totally defenseless Sanders and could't even manage a knock down let alone a knockout. Sanders wasn't known for possessing a good chin.

Bermane Stiverne dropped and knocked out Arroela with single shots. Vitali couldn't hurt the guy with 100's of blows.
He couldn't hurt Chisora , Haye dropped and then destroyed Chisora. Vitali couldn't hurt Kevin Johnson. Chisora floored Johnson with one punch.
MaCline dropped Peter multiple times in the early rounds. Hilenius polaxed Peter. Vitali got a late round corner stoppage minus any knock downs.
I don't think this guy has a single clean KO over one noteworthy opponent. Maybe Kirk who turned up fat and out of shape.
There's an argument for a #5 rating since his accumulate hurting power would have no effect on a moving target thus reducing it down even further. This was seen against Chris Byrd who literally laughed at his best shots.
#6 is fair imo.
