Cheers, noticed the trend when I saw that Davis and Mikey had such high rankings at 135 and 140 respectively. Mikey I can sort of justify, shutting out Broner is a solid W, but Gervonta though? Mo'****a ain't even fought at 135 yet, he just missed weight like a punk. I only wish I could explain why Boxrec have suddenly reneged and nerfed Tony down to #6.
Bellew #2 finally made them realize that there's a flaw in the system . I can imagine BoxRec headquarters being in a total chaos right now.
To be honest he arguably has a better claim to being #2 HW than he does to being #3 CW, but hey as long as the pencil pushing statistic nerds realise the error of their ways one way or another I'm not complaining.
How many fighters make the transition from 175 to 200 to heavy??? Not many, if it was easy everyone would be doing it!! Bellew>>>> Stevenson/Kova
Stevenson knocked out Bellew. So ... no. And it's certainly easier to make the transition when your opponent ruptures his Achilles mid-fight.
Who wins in the rematch at 200, or 200+? Bellew. Bellew has proved his worth by going up nearly fifty pounds that's impressive and he deserves praise. Bellew= HOF fighter
Obviously this is ridiculous but in fairness Bellew has had one fight at heavyweight and still has a better win in the division than WBC Champion Wilder.. How embarrassing is that for Wilder? This is what we are talking about Wilder fans, let that sink in, stop saying "No".. just let it seep in. A Fat Bellew has a better win after a single fight at the weight and Wilder has had 38 fights.
Bellew as always underrated. Clevery, Masternak, Makabu, Flores, Haye .. everyone was going to beat him easily. Bellew is going to win the rematch as well. And I can see him beating similar tall guys like Pulev, Martin, Hammer, Kownacki etc. all of who are Top 10 boxers.
Not really. His opponent ruptured his Achilles. His win over Haye was about as impressive as Charles Martin's win over Glazkov. Hall of Fame? Christ.
Cleverly beat him, too. Beating B.J. Flores doesn't get you into the Hall of Fame. Bellew's couple minutes of fame are about over.
Haye ruptured his Achilles. Haye is as brittle as an old woman. But if he can walk to the ring without breaking something, Bellew will get wasted in the rematch about as quickly as Montell Griffin did after he "beat" Roy Jones in their first fight.
Maybe but we are now getting into the old British forum joke quote "A fully prepared Mitchell" when it comes to Haye. I personally don't care what state Haye was in, he turned up and lost, Bellew got the win. Also even an injured Haye is still a better win for Bellew than anything Wilder has on his record.
