All close fights. I think a case can be made in all of them. I don't think it would be CRIMINAL to have Marquez winning them. But I think a BETTER case can be made for Pac in all those fights.

I think the 3rd fight was probably the one you could make the best case for Marquez though. I remember thinking watching that, "man these commentators are very biased".

I say screw the record. People know the record sucks. The record says that Pacquiao lost to Bradley and Horne or that GGG/Canelo was a draw. Marquez got robbed in their third fight. He got robbed in his first title fight against Freddie Norwood too, otherwise he'd have been a superstar the same as Pac and Mayweather. I haven't seen the Chris John fight, but he might have been robbed there as well.

Didn't Marquez only made $40k for the Chris John fight?

Yep, sadly Marquez won't be remembered in 50 years time, he will
Be mentioned here and there whereas Pac and Floyd names are set in stone for as long as boxing exists

When you look at his record, he probably should have been undefeated 44-0 going into the first Pacquiao bout. The first fight he fought should have been a NC or something instead of a disqualification and he clearly beat Freddie Norwood in his first title fight. If he gets that WBA featherweight strap then instead of waiting another four years and eleven fights, his career looks like Floyd Mayweathers.

Records mean more than we like to think. If a guy wins a decision seen as bad, it is still seen somewhat as a win. It is hard to go around it.

I feel he clearly did. Even their draw, even if you fixed the error in tabulation from one judge, still ought to have been a clear JMM victory as he swept the overwhelming majority of the frames after that disastrous first.

I didn't think Manny was punishing JMM that badly in the KTFO6. Remember JMM had already folded Pacquiao in the 2nd round with the same shot. Manny was coming on for sure and knocked JMM down but that's NEVER stopped JMM before. Not sure why people think that was going to be the fate of JMM had he not KTFO Pacquiao.

Marquez was clearly the better fighter in their series. Absolutely no question.
He was just Pac's foil..plenty of greats from other eras had that one fighter they couldn't figure out.

I thought Pac was a little dudded in the first fight. But after that Marquez becoming increasingly the superior fighter in their series.

Pac will go down the greater fighter but the paternity test will always read Marquez is his papi. Maury Povich eat your heart out.

Hell no. The first fight and the second fight belonged to Pacquiao. The third and the fourth ones belonged to JMM. So, there should be the 5th fight between them to decide who is better than the other.
