My grandpa said that Jack Johnson beats young Mike Tyson

My granddad used to always claim that his early 1950’s college football team, in which he was a lineman on at about 180 lbs, could easily beat all the modern college football powerhouse teams. He said they were just so much tougher back then. He used to tell me this story about how one of his teammates got knocked unconscious 5 times in one game and didn’t know who or where he was for a week afterwards....yet stayed in the game and scored the winning touchdown.

 

Johnson lived on exactly the same planet as Tyson, I assure you.

Sam Mcvey was at the very least *something* like a young Tyson. He was almost identical to Tyson in size, build, and style.

As for getting floored by a middleweight, there is no person alive who could not be floored by a flush shot from a hard punching middleweight. Such a person doesn't exist -or *at best* there is zero reason to simply assume such a person does. (And no, I don't think my assumption is equally unfounded.)

 

Terrible, terrible comparison, even if we assume this extremely made-up sounding anecdote even occurred.

My Grandpa is stuffed with newspapers and clothes so he wouldn't have an opinion on this matter since inanimate objects cant speak or process thought.I get the feeling of a presence of energy around him sometimes though when we both look at fights and i ask him about it.
