Retired former heavyweight king Wladimir Klitschko felt Gennady Golovkin did more than enough to earn a twelve round unanimous decision win over Canelo Alvarez last month at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
Nobody expected it was going to go the distance," Klitschko said. "I thought Gennady was ahead. But it's pretty much the same question fans are asking when you don't have [a] clear win for one of the fighters, when it goes to points. You can go in either direction because sometimes people have different views."

Asked if he expects a second meeting between the pair to be arranged, Klitschko added: "That's possible, if they want to."

Tom Loeffler, the managing director for K2, confirmed Golovkin's desire to get back in the ring with Canelo, but conceded the need to address several areas of concern, including the date – with May 5 mooted – the judges and the location.

"Gennady wants to fight before May but, if they commit to a rematch, we'll have to see if that makes sense. We can't put Gennady's career on hold, but [a rematch] is the priority," he told Sky Sports.

"Gennady wants a rematch because this left an unsatisfied taste. Canelo said he won't fight until May, but we have to see if he wants a rematch. We wouldn't be hesitant about coming back to Nevada, but we'd be more selective with the officials that were assigned. [Byrd's] scoring system doesn't fit GGG's style, so that gives an argument not to have her involved

On the subject of where a second showdown might be held, Loeffler added: "If there's a rematch Dallas should be at the top of the list, but Madison Square Garden made an offer [for the first fight] that would have been a record gate for New York.

"After seeing the tremendous atmosphere at Wembley Stadium [for Anthony Joshua v Wladimir Klitschko] I was always a fan of going to the AT&T Stadium where we could have sold 100,000 tickets."

If popularity contests mattered then Hilary would be in office. Why is it G is deteriorating and old now? Ask Wlad and all these people who are normally the consensus who had the victim winning and even yourselves would you put your money on your moral victor in the rematch?

Then you'll get the real answer on who won the first fight and the rematch. I guarantee you Lampley, Lederman, Carlos Santana and all of Mexico will not put their money on Golovkin and neither are you lmao

People don't bs when it comes to their money.

The idea that who someone think could win a rematch being an indicator of who really won the first fight is some horrible logic lol.

I think G won the first fight. I will probably be picking Canelo in the rematch by SD. Why? I feel a 36 year old G will be an extra second behind in his form, I feel he took some big punches in the first fight that might show some effects in the second, I feel Canelo can improve more on that performance than G can on his. I feel if canelo trains for less muscle and more stamina for the rematch it could pay off in the middle rounds. In a fight thats already closely contested I feel those points will tip it to a close (but deserved) victory for Canelo.

That has nothing to do with who I felt 'really won' the first fight.

The human body undergoes bunch of changes as time passes, becoming less efficient and slower. If you look carefully, you will see these "old people" around us in society.

You're fast turning into Dinomoron with your obsessive irrational hate towards GGG.

Let me ask you a question, did Mayweather deserve to lose against Maidana, since he is known as one of the greatest defensive fighters of all time, yet was caught flush on multiple occassions? This is your logic, a great offensive fighter must ko all their opponents, so a defensive fighter should never get hit on the chin.

Let's see if you have any consistency in applying your own reasoning or if you are just a hypocrite from the hate school of Dinocum and Pimp C/

Vlad is correct, Golovkin won the fight and it wasn't even close, but the fight should be in Dec., not May. Oscar wants Golovkin to age as much as possible. Golovkin should fight Saunders for the WBO title, then fight El Pollo, but when it comes time for the fight in May, El Pollo will want it in Sept., then the next May, this could go on for years! I like fighters who fight often. Golovkin wants to fight ofter, El Pollo does not like to fight very often...............the fight should not be in Texas, Oscar will have the crook Lawrence Cole to cheat for them, the judges will be Mexican fans of El Pollo's, the boxing commission is corrupt, even worse than Vegas, if that's possible! Fight at MSG, NY, with neutral judges, referee and boxing commission, watch out of Oscar's tricks. Hopkins said that El Pollo will do the same as SOB did to Kovalev, that means that El Pollo plans on punching Golovkin in the testicles! After all, that's how SOB won, TKO by illegal testicle blows.

Is this how far you blinded Canelo fans have to go to try to find away where it may seem Canelo won that fight? Canelo lost, GGG won and i didnt go looking at anybodys betting slips i saw the fight, as did Wlad and everybody else that falls in to the 90 something percent who also saw Golovkin winning.

Im no betting man but if i were to put money on the rematch it would be going on Golovkin. Canelo cheated on the scales and was probably on Peds too and fought the fight of his life and fell short. If there is a rematch, If Oscar has the balls to put him in there again with Golovkin the Mexican is getting stopped no doubt about it.
