LOL Wrong about what? Hopkins was 28 when he lost to Jones. You could actually flip your statement and ask "what or who was Hopkins fighting at 35 like GGG?" At 35 Hopkins was just an IBF title holder, he'd lost to RJJ and had been knocked down in a draw with the great Segundo Mercado and his best wins to date where over journeymen Echols and his 3 fight epic trilogy with Robert Allen. So GGG doesn't have to fight on until he's 40 as by 35 he's already achieved more than Hopkins had at 35.....too easy this you idiotic tit.
I think GGG wins, probably by late stoppage, but I also think this probably would have been more competitive than most people speculate. I know that Hopkins dominated Trinidad, Golovkin is a stronger puncher than Hopkins, and it's reasonable to assess that GGG's punches could potentially wear Trinidad down quicker than Hopkins did. But Trinidad seemed to struggle most against solid defensive fighters. DLH troubled him for long stretches with speed and movement, Hopkins baffled him by using angles and setting traps, and Winky's high turtle shell guard was nearly impenetrable for Tito. Golovkin has at times exhibited some good defensive skills of his own, but I don't think Golovkin would have Tito quite as confused as the 3 I mentioned. And I think Trinidad would find openings on Golovkin, and I reckon his power would certainly earn GGG's respect. You have to favor Golovkin, but I think it would be a fun and entertaining fight - a true crowd-pleaser for as long as it lasted.
Acceptable theory, but keep in mind we never saw Tito in this situation. Sure Tito does great Teeing-off vs an iron-chinned Welter, GGG boxing skills + Power + Iron chin + Size advantage, make this a no-win situation for Trinidad
The general consensus was that Canelo lost, in which he did. 8-4 to Golovkin, it was an easy fight to score. I see you accept your defeat as you are unable to refute what I put and are now throwing what is tantamount to wild accusations to cover your lack of argument. Fact is at 35 Hopkins had only the IBF title, a draw against a B/C level fighter, lost to the only good fighter he'd faced and had only beaten C level opposition.....keep it up its funny to watch a cretins argument implode on themselves.
B.Hop Losing to Roy Jones at middle weight, can't be ashamed of that. Everyone. I mean every middle weight in history loses to prime Roy Jones he was just to gifted. Super speed punching power reflexes where out of a video game , never seen a fighter like that before. And I mean everyone at middle weight loses to Roy Jones Jr. Until we get another fighter that come around like that in about another 20 years that everyone will say could beat prime, middle weight Roy Jones Jr till then nope not even killer GGG. he gets beat like B.Hop but survives cause of his chin but gets hurt and dropped by Video game Roy Jones. Cause Canelo buzzed him , made him hesitant to go toe to toe and made him back up. At least B.Hop moved up in weight to test and prove himself. But both B.Hop and GGG didn't fight against top killer super middle weight fighters oh wait B.Hop did fight Roy Jones Jr so he had one. GGG nope and GGG wont move up in weight like B.Hop Hmmm.
Who said RJJ wasn't elite and Hopkins should be ashamed he lost? I never said that.... Hopkins started his career at 175 and it is well known lived like a spartan in and out of camp to be able to stay at 160, Golovkin is a natural 160lb fighter....just like Hagler, just like Monzon. Again though your argument is invalid as at that point nobody knew how RJJ would unfold as a fighter, but the fact still remains he lost. If fighting and losing to top tier fighters equates to having a great resume then Darnell Boone must be an ATG.
Bhop is a legend. G is a living myth. Theres no comparison. You're just basking under the blanket of the general consensus like the rest of bandwagoners. You guys are only confident on a group popularity contest. Come time around the fight, there will be nothing but excuses. All clowns like you are good for. Fads never last.
No, both fighters are legends at 160. What Hopkins has done after is great but outside of Tarver his 175 "career" was calculated at best, again this is taking nothing away from him. He did at 175 something that I cannot see GGG doing but I would not expect that from career 160lbers something Hopkins was not when he kicked off his career. Plus we now know or could question why Hopkins refused VADA testing prior to his recent fights.
if you break Hopkins middleweight reign down, all your left with is under sized middles and longevity going for it...No genuine prime scalps whatsoever....And if that's whats made Hopkins an atg at 160 then the same should be afforded to GGG...His been dominant for years and quite obviously elite atg at 160
This guy had to research Bhop earlier today to even make an attempt of a case. I didn't even address RJJ is who most likely the most naturally gifted fighter in all of boxing history. G just went life and death with Canelo and a shot Ouma when he was 28. He also didn't know Bhop was the underdog against Tito because he hasn't been watching boxing that long. In reality no one can even sit here and say G is better than Jermaine Taylor, let alone Bhop. This guy is a bandwagoner. Nothing more. He probably was a Ronda Rousey fan too. These guys don't know boxing.
no doubt in my mind Hopkins juiced...Look at how he cheated and exaggerated in the ring to gain advantages...Its in his dna to gain ANY advantage
So you are now talking about me without addressing me? Great, for the record though I didn't have to research Hopkins at all, but you not once refuted what I've said.....instead you've moved the goal posts and acted childish. I'll say it one more time. GGG will not have achieved what Hopkins did at 40+ because he would be retired by then, but, GGG has already achieved more at 35 than what Hopkins had up to that point.....not hard to comprehend is it? Golovkin doesn't have to fight on until 50 just because Hopkins did.
NO, NO, NO.....Taylor is the new guy who would easily beat the overhyped 35yo GGG. LMFAO they're unreal aren't they.
