I think it might as well be AJ's first fight in the USA.

Not many Americans know, or care about Wilder, but Wilder is still the most well known heavyweight currently active in the US, so he might as well have Wilder in Vegas.

US is way past being the centre of the HW scene. Between UK fighters and the Klitchkos most key HW fights games last decade have been in UK and Germany . There is decent money to be made in US but so is there in lots of other places (China, Middle East etc)as as well as UK. Joshua will get wodgers of cash wherever he goes. Absolutely no need to fight in US if he doesn't want to. If I were him I'd stay well clear of Las Vegas which is corrupt to the core.

No one even knows who Wilder is in the UK. AJ is H/W king right now.

No he doesnt need to go to America to become a global star he is well on his way already. Its not where you fight these days its who you fight. The 1980s and 90s are long behind us. He faced and beat Wladamir Klitchko. Shame Wilder doesnt realise this or he may have a better resume himself and may of gained alot more respect and fans by now.

Personally id love to see him go to America and face Wilder, or anybody, would love to see him in the famous old venues that are seen as the Mecca of Boxing in New York and Vegas. If he toured the world fighting on different continents that would do him or his fanbase no harm at all, but it isnt essential in making him a global superstar. Beating Wlad did that for him.

Yes, Deontay is right. But unfortunately that bodybuilder Joshua, wouldn't make it past the airport with all those syringes in his gym bag!

If Wilder was a big star in the US that would make sense, but Wilder is about as known as AJ is over there.

Makes absolutely no difference to AJ's profile in the US if he fights Wilder there because whatever venue they have will be filled with Brits anyway.

Over in the UK this would fill Wembley Stadium and the PPV figures would be massive. Wilder has never headlined a PPV show and brings absolutely no fanbase outside of Alabama.

Ummm why? Joshua fights in front of 90 thousand fans on ppv. Wilder fights in front of maybe 8 thousand fans in his home state. Nothing Global about Wilder.

For what it's worth, I post on another general sports board, there isn't much boxing chat apart from when the big fights come around, normally discuss Soccer, NFL, Rugby, Cricket, Baseball, Athletics, Tennis etc, but anyway, I reckon the majority of sport fans know who Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury is (this is users from all round the world), probably because they both beat Wlad. I've only ever seen one thread made about Deontay Wilder ever, and even that was someone querying why no one ever talks about him (considering he is an American unbeaten champion with a great KO record). So from what I can gather, he is virtually anonymous, even to the American sport fans.
