They need to get rid of the roids, not create a new division for roiders.

The WBC can go skrew itself.

If im honest ive seen some gifted smaller heavyweights that just grow to heavy for Cruiser but cant compete against the giants that have big reach and height advantages over them. A bit of a shame but half of them would want to win titles at heavy and STILL go up to super heavy. They would be better off putting height classes rather than weight.

But the WBC can still go skrew itself. Just because they are corrupt leaches.

I don't see the point, they should simply adjust the size of LHW, CW and HW.
LHW up to maybe 184 lbs
    CW up to 215 lbs
    HW above 215 lbs

This would seem to be a better compromise than a new division. I mean,
larger men are naturally bigger these days so I don't have an issue with the
largest divisions being modified, a new division is just problematic IMHO

"It is a change, that if it happens, it's going to have a lot of resistance - because you are going against history, all of the records, statistics, how they would be perceived - but all of that will always be secondary, because what matters is the security and the physical health of the fighter," Sulaiman said.

"The reality is that obviously there are fights where the physical difference [in weight] becomes dangerous. In the cruiserweight division, the limit is 200 pounds and then there is no limit."

"Recently the weight of the champions [at heavyweight] is 250 or 260 pounds and they fought with opponents who are about 205-210. I want to ask [the WBC's medical team] to do research on the side of medicine to collect data. We will conduct a weight study and perhaps establish the new division. We want boxers to be in the best position to protect their health."

Finally something great from the WBC!

230+ pounds would be a good start.

This is pretty solid idea. I would just go back to the original 8 divisions plus CW and same day weigh ins but that will never hapen for obvious reasons.

If one could blow the whole thing up and start over something like this would be interesting.

    51kgs/112- Fly
    55kgs/121- Bantam
    60kgs/132-Feather
    65kgs/143-Light
    70kgs/154-Welter
    75kgs/165-Middle
    82.5kgs/182-Lightheqavy
    95kgs/211-Cruiser
    95+-Heavy

Those guys do not exist anymore.

A 'small' HW today is someone 6ft3....

Always though 175lbs jump to 200lbs was a shame and too big.

Means a lot of guys either putting on or losing too much weight.

Then how can heavyweight be 200 when you got 240+ guys?

A guy could be 201 at his best weight and be a brilliant boxer.

Yet he has to challenge 250 Joshua to fight for his belt?

    It's silly.

Would definitely be a better alternative than adding
    more divisions.

    Remember Ali vs Foster?
Holyfield vs Bowe, Foreman, Valuev and Douglas?
    Jeffries vs Fitzsimmons and Corbett?

And NOW we need a SHW division?!

I think it's long overdue. This isn't a difference in skill anymore but a difference in size.

175 were considered heavywweight back in time... it evolved and became 200. Now its time again. 230 would be OK.

Washington vs chambers is a perfect example of the situation.

    Washington is more talented H2H.

But Chambers is way more talented P4P.

Boxing has to be divided into weightclasses.
