This. Groves is a different animal. He has a great jab as well as being able to fight back. Groves is no Spike, Yildram, Blackwell etc. His way better than that.

    Did you see those shots?

They were not short sharp little rights or lefts, they were huge wild swings and they landed and Yildirim wasn't spark out either. Yildirim was trying his best to get up.

You get hit like that from a real puncher and you are out the game.

I think Jr is a solid puncher but not a big puncher.

I was more impressed Jr actually used a jab than the actual KO, he looks far better to me when he is boxing than posing and just launching uppercuts and winging.

So excited about the Eubank-Groves fight. I think Groves will also make a statement against Cox. No way is he ‘fringe level’ or ‘past it’ as some people have said. I’ve seen no decline in his performances, he did what he had to do against Chudinov, he was impatient and cut corners but he wanted that title badly.

Groves will use the jab effectively against Junior but he will struggle to keep Jn off him for 12 rounds. He has to make him wary with that ram rod jab, a shot that Murray said was harder than anything GGG threw at him.

Credit to CEJ last night - produced more entertainment in 3 rounds than all the domestic cards on Sky from the McGregor v Fraud exhibition card.

Yes, yes he is. But he's not truly world class, and I think junior is. Who is the best win on Groves' CV? He has a string of poor-ish performances under his belt when he's stepped up.

Groves is not calm enough under pressure. As someone who has seen every single George Groves fight and as a big fan of his I know this well. He's lost his **** far too often, gets tagged, the engine starts going mid-rounds and he always ends up in trouble. The signs were even there against Chudinov.

Is Groves v Eubank a 2 round blowout for Eubank? Probably not. Does Groves have a field day with Eubank? Not a chance. He might win (I seriously doubt it) but if he does he's going to have to go into the trenches for it.

PS. Groves under Booth wipes the floor with Eubank??? Are we talking about the same guy that went life and death with Anderson???

IMO booth got the best out of groves. His game plans are to a tee he knows how to protect your weaknesses and use your best attributes. I don't think he would have beaten degale without booth. He's like a less fragile amir Khan. He needs to work to a game plan or he can come unstuck. Avoid getting caught and box behind his jab to conserve energy to stop him gassing. He needed booth in his corner desperately against Froch

No it was his backhand Murray said was harder 20, no the jab.
Remember too GGG dropped Murray with shots to head And body....did groves drop Murray? ..and that groves is hugely bigger than GGG.

You have to take in all the factors...fighters are notoriously inconsistent talking about their best opponents. All in all as you say great as grovers jab is ...will it be enough over 12 to beat jr. I'm not so sure it will.

I'm starting to think the current version or jr can beat groves, and I rate groves very highly.

Jr has a good chin...he took flush bombs from Spike...and say what you like about spike ...he is a vicious puncher. He has real power...as attested to by all who spar him...including much bigger guys. They can't all be wrong.

He was done imo..Ref should've counted though to give him the chance, but Jnr would've finished him off even if he managed to make it up by 10. I don't think he would've beat the count anyways !

Spikes heavy handed, didn't he wobble Jnr too ?? Sparring though is really not much of a gauge. Eubanks opponent is/was known for being too much for most in sparring, busting people up and knocking Degales teeth out, then you look at him against Jnr and he looked way out his depth !

I can see the turk's style being more suited to having headgear on lol.

jnr came out in that third round throwing hooks like he was messing with a five year old on fight night

Are you talking about the same Eubank who struggled with Tyan Booth? Or was rocked and buzzed several times by Spike? Or the one who couldn't finish Renald Quinlan despite hitting him 4million times?

See I can do this too.

You're using one set of criteria to judge Groves, and another set to judge Eubank because you like him more. Not a subjective argument at all.

Eubank was extremely impressive last night, he fought an aggressive spiteful fight and I now think that Eubank has put himself in as one of the favourites for the tournament, but don't spout nonsense about "Groves best win?" etc...when he's fought at a much higher level than Eubank and for much longer. At least Groves wanted to get revenge for a loss vs his nemesis, what did Eubank do lol?

Eubank jnr still has a future in the division after Groves beats him easily.
