Yes I agree regarding his punching.

I've been saying it since the Monroe fight that with each fight there has been a decline in speed and snap to his punches. He's still a very powerful puncher but he's become more heavy handed as opposed to explosive.

The decline has set in and as a fan I'd like to see him pack in by 2019.

 

His intensity has undoubtedly wavered, that there is no question. However I think partly that is down to the respect he gives his opponents in the ring and intending to stick to the gameplan presented to him by Abel.

In the Kell Brook fight he had absolutely no respect for the man and as each round passed, he turned up the intensity to the point where he turned into a complete barbarian, on the level of Marciano and ended up destroying Brook's career.

He didn't wish to end Jacob's career in a similar fashion as he is a good guy. With Canelo he was fully aware of the counter punching power of Canelo plus his speed so could not afford to be reckless.

 

At least they had the bottle to get in the ring with GGG, unlike your favourite fighter.

 

I think he takes an L by then OB, hope i'm wrong..He gets rattled as well easier, he takes it, but i'm noticing a delay in setting himself after getting tagged, like he looks like he could be continuously pushed back. I think hes slowed enough to allow others that chance

Tbh I'm also beginning to question his or Abel's tactics in some of his recent fights, there doesn't seem to be any urgency anymore.

So he moves slower punches slower and his punch powers diminished all because of opposition ? Hes regressed forget the comp !

 

I see him blagging as well. He'll walk quick to his opponent likes hes going to unleash, then nothing! Wily old trick, like hes gagging to get close but really hes not as determined as he makes you think. I don't think i'm doing a good job explaining this lol

Don't worry I know what you're getting at.

 

Golovkin looks equally as hittable as before. But he's facing less hittable opponents. Golovkin is used to having his way when he corners a fighter, they just shell up and give him time to pick his punches as he pleases. Not so with the quick counter-punches of Canelo and Jacobs.

 

hes fighting better fighters. jacobs and canelo are no joke. and he beat them both in most people opinion.
