This content is protected Who you got? The better athlete or the better natural talent? Is one declining & the other peaking? Will the press conference be the funniest since Haye & Chisora? The naturally bigger boxer puncher versus the gym rat machine? The Chris Eubank imitator versus the David Haye imitator? Will Groves experience pay off? Questions, questions..
After last night cej beating groves doesn't seem so far fetched, does it? Take groves jab away, (if cej can) and granted he is still bigger, probably a harder puncher, but jr may be too much of an animal for him over 12. Engine, athleticism work rate, sheer savagery, multi punch combos...blizzard like punching etc all these advantages lie with cej. It might be too much for groves in the end.
2G would knock eubanks head clean off. it would land in brighton, thereby inventing the game of golf in one go.
A lot of people giving Groves too much credit. Groves is a sucker for that right hand, and Eubank will land it. I see Eubank getting Groves out of position and out of balance, which will make way for those flashy combos and the right hand. Eubank by KO in 8.
I hope and I expect Groves takes it. He might eat some right hands in the process, and even get outworked in later rounds but cej doesn't have the power to hurt Groves or boxing ability to throw anything that Groves doesn't see coming. I expect Groves to outbox Eubank jr. That is, making Cej hesitant by timing him, by feints etc. 65/35 -fight in my books. Good thread by the way
Eubank who couldn't properly finish off a taxi driver called Renald Quinlan despite hitting him 100 times per round is somehow going to KO a huge SMW like Groves inside 8 rounds, yeah ok.
If Jr continues to stand square on when throwing his hooks, he's going to get nailed by Groves in the same way that Froch did.
Would'nt of said this 2/3 fights ago but Jnr imo has got the air of a man that's going to do everything he says and beat every one..Hunger is the key with him imo. Them uppercuts too are nasty, and he repeats them rapidly. Hes picking up clever ways too. I noticed he wasn't giving ground just standing there with the Turk and proving he was stronger, little things, very calculated, always thinking, waiting for the ref to come between them not letting him get a close shot off. It looked a bit weird them both standing there not holding or punching just against each other but that was Jnr letting him know. He's a thorough professional and physically and mentally sharp as **** !
I still believe Groves` power fades after the 6th, if Eubank can withhold the early onslaught i think his engine will end up taking over this fight for him, Eubank will have the speed advantage throughout and i just dont know if Groves can keep the pace, i think hes got 5/6 rounds to get Eubank out of there or Eubank wins this on late stoppage or points. This may sound favourable to Eubank but dont get me wrong, if that same right hand that put Carl Froch down lands flush with Eubank it could be night night for the smaller man.
You've come a long way on CEJ Len! I remember when you were semi-laughing at me for calling him a live dog in the BJS fight and - correct me if I'm wrong here - you giving Spike a puncher's chance in their comically mismatched showdown!
Oh boy!!!! Casuals on Parade. Eubank scores one highlight reel KO (not really) and all his past long drawn out mind numbing accumulation stoppages and distance fights have been magically forgotten. Which skilled boxer has CEJ fought since BJS? Not a one, everyone he's faced play to his strengths, Groves does not.
Hes improving though rapidly. He swept the Turk aside brutally, although he was overated...What did you think of his performance ?
