His corner was telling him to keep the fight in the center of the ring. They wanted him to stand his ground more and avoid getting backed up on the ropes. Canelo opted to back peddle as much as he did for a reason. He did so more in his fight with GGG than he did in any of his other fights so the fact that Nelo was a lot more defensive indicates GGG's offense affected him to the point where Alvarez didn't feel comfortable staying within range of Golovkin's punches.

Alvarez did well in spots however his success wasn't sustainable and the lack of balance between his offense and defense created the overwhelming consensus that he lost in clear fashion to GGG. Even in the late rounds Alvarez shot his load in the first 30 seconds or so and then didn't have enough in he tank to mount any effective offense for the remainder of the championship rounds.

GGG controlled all the meaningful components in the fight.....tempo, pace and range. Alvarez fought Golovkin's fight and that's the reason the vast majority of the fans called the draw a robbery. Canelo definitely made it competitive....but not close as Golovkin won that fight clearly.

Styles make fights....all boxers have certain styles that will cause them problems. Even Floyd had had styles that gave him fits. Not that the great fighters aren't capable of finding ways to adjust and pull out the victory, but it's just harder to look dominant against them. Terry will face the same kind of challenges down the line when he begins facing better opposition. GGG had the same thing happen to him with guys like Jacobs and a little with Alvarez, but GGG's style was more problematic for Canelo than the other way around.

no it was more that his corner didn't want him trapped in the corner than saul Alvarez wanted take center of the ring they wanted him to box around him and use his movement

Jacobs and Canelo are better than anyone Crawford has fought.

Agreed. But they did not want him back peddling so much vs circling away from GGG's power. Alvarez did use angles and lateral movement in spots, allowing him to box and effectively, but he didn't do so enough.

    Canelo fans in action:

Lara ran and outlanded Canelo "Oh but Lara is a runner; Canelo controlled the ring punches landed don't count as much"
Canelo ran and got outlanded vs GGG "Oh but Canelo landed these counters; ring control and punches landed don't count so much"

But he has the frame to do it, also 135 and 140 have been the weakest that I can ever think of them being and far worse than 160.

Crawford has won his titles over Dulorme, RICKY BURNS and an African fisherman in Indongo.....hes had the easiest title grab that I can think of.

Dominating 2 of the crapest weight divisions in boxing isn't challenging yourself, 160 is and has been leagues above 135 and 140 recently..

147 is where he'll prove his worth and take a couple of L's.

Mainly Crawford was lucky enough to sign up with arguably the GOAT promoter, while GGG is signed up to guys who are not genetically suited to promote anything (besides the obsession of polishing their own Kock)

Are GGG promoters sincerely interested in making sure GGG becomes more important than them?
Will the promoters of GGG consider him a projection of themselves?
Will they go out of their way to harass, expose & undermine anybody who stands against their fighter?
