I can see Groves vs Eubank Jr being a fight of two halves, a bit like BJS vs Eubank.

Groves will take the first half with his jab and landing the better right hands, but then Eubank will start taking over. What would be very impressive is if Jr is able to overwhelm Groves in the later rounds and get the KO.

I think it's more the other way round with Saunders being a bit overrated given he won a close decision against Jr when Jr had less experience against better competition.

Plus Saunders has crap stamina for a pro athlete. He's a good boxer but i feel he's a tad overrated and i think Eubank Jr is underrated and is more of a work in progress. Saunders has peaked.

Groves is on the decline but i think his experience and power may get him the win unless Cox shocks him saturday which is not likely. I think Groves's movement and the way he pivots may cause Eubank Jr a bit of trouble.

Jnr waz also moving well behind the jab on sat night.
We havnt really seen jnr been so effective with the jab before, in fact in going to argue that hes putting more effort into this move so he will level the playing field somewhat when he faces Groves.
We all know Groves has a good jab but in the battle of the jabs the 2s 3s and 4s whilst circling will nulify groves straight dowm the line jab.
I think team jnr have now been working on this in preparation for groves.
He looked good on sat, jabbing whilst moving then stepping in with the back hand. This move would bring groves a bit of trouble.

was his jab effective or did he just throw it a lot more? seemed to me that as he was moving away while he was throwing it, there wasnt much on it, and it wasnt really doing much to Yildrim (i did have a few to drink so my view may have been slightly distorted lol)

Groves has an unusual "conservatives" style..front leg bent at the knee and back leg at a funny angle. While this stance keeps him safe against most opposition, cej isn't most opposition. Jr's extra speed and work rate could catch him out, and groves could become. oVerwhwlmed. Groves normal evasion tactic of swivelling off to the side might break down under jr's relentless attack.

Eubank did use the jab a lot more to his credit which set him up nicely for his hooks & uppercuts, although he didn’t land much with it (13/111).

How did Groves look spent against Chudinov? Chudinov doesn’t make anyone look good. He gives anyone in the 168 division a torrid night imo.

I keep reading people posting that Groves is on the slide but I can’t see any evidence of this?

I always wondered why jr never jabbed all along? Does he have some kind of an arm injury that prevented him from using jabs? Or did he just not bother?
A good jab is essential if you want to reach the top in boxing....even against a superior jabber you should never neglect your own jab at times in a fight.

If jr can get his jab going he really will be a formidable opponent for anyone.

I believe he’s had trouble with his elbow in the past, mate, maybe he’s past that now. I agree, it was something he wasn’t using enough prior to the Yildirim fight.

That injury theory would make sense cos otherwise there is no reason for a fighter to throw almost literally zero jabs in fight after fight.
It was good to see his jab - finally - make an appearance v Yildirim last weekend.
Even v Yildirim his jab was not ramrod-straight - more 'flicking' and not driving thru the target like a lance etc. This could suggest he isnt fully over the supposed injury. (Or he could just be out of practice jabbing!).

Must be an injury i used to think how the hell does he do anything as his jab was very bad . Looks like he never wanted to extend his arm fully. Which would suggest some injury. But his last fight it looked more like a normal jab. Still wasn't fully extending his arm though

If they exchange jabs jnr has no chance in that type of fight (long/ middle)

Groves jab was lighting up froch who also has an elite jab
