I assume this must be a Rigo first by the way. Tell me if that happened to him headlining before.

That was at Radio City Music Hall. 6,145 seats. A highly unusual and, I am told, awkward venue for a fight, since the ring is on the stage and the audience faces only one side of the ring.

The first fight ever held there was Roy Jones-David Telesco in 2000. I don't know if there have been any fights after that until Donaire-Rigo.

 

I think Loma vs Marriaga was held there. If not there then in a similar venue.

 

I was there. I had no trouble getting tickets. Ill probably go to this one too.

 

Loma-Marriaga was at the MSG Theatre, same as this fight coming up. GGG fought there a number of times before they moved him to the MSG arena.

 

Wasn't Lomachenko's last fight in a similar venue? I remember a couple recent fights happening on a stage like that.

 

I have my tickets , Leaving from Montreal , I think the Theater holds only 5500 people

 

Two weeks in advance bad news for the haters calling Rigo "boring to watch"

 

They'll just say it was due to Lomachenko but, he has NEVER sold that many tickets in his life either. I'm just glad the fight was made and that it took Conor McGregor and his legion of non boxing fans to make it happen. Boxing fans have NO say so in boxing that it took and MMA guy to come over and talk about a fantasy fight to make it come true.

Maybe technical boxing will finally get some praise at HBO or ESPN or wherever this is happening.

 

You can still buy tickets. It looks like stubhub or whatever just bought all of them so they could charge 200+ for them.
