Due to Loma's lack of power, there is no size advantage in this fight

After Loma schools Rigo I really don't want any excuses.

Loma is a natural 126 lb fighter with low punching power. The extra 4 lbs isn't significant considering that he doesn't have that much power behind his punches anyway. He is just a purely technical fighter, and he will beat Rigo on the basis of technique and skill instead of increased size.

Size and weight aren't the same thing. There are pictures of both of them (on different occasions) standing next to Crawford floating about. You can really see the difference there.

I also wouldn't say Loma has low power either, he isn't a devastating puncher sure but if he chose to stand and sit down on his shots more it'd be noticeable I think

Loma doesn't have "low power" like an old Samsung phone battery ...he has explosive power, like a Samsung S7 Note battery!

I agree with the statement that Loma skills and technique will win the fight. But disagree that size will not play a factor. I think it will.
Size isn't always equal punching power, but more like physical strength.
Example, Holyfield and Mosley are physically strong but not a devastating power puncher.
Or recent fight, pac is probably a bigger puncher than horn, but horn physical strength and size made it hard for Pac to move him.

Lol, if that's how it worked Bob Foster, the hardest punching LHWT ever, would have beaten Ali who couldn't break an egg...

Rigo is going to step up two weight divisions to fight Lomachenko, of course Loma will have a monumental strength advantage.

Its not really about power when you move up, its about a fighters physical mass and strength.
Its very possible that Loma could just outmuscle and bully Rigo, just walk through a fighter who may be physically inferior, just to small.

Its skill vs skill as they are both higly skilled at what they do, but when you have two equally skilled fighers going against eachother, size and weight will matter.

I heard the same dumb statements when Juan Manuel Marquez moved up two weight divisions to fight Mayweather.
The Mayweather apologist quickly pointed out that size wasn't a factor, that Mayweather simply outclassed Marquez.
Bunch of Bozos. How is it outclassing when Marquez didn't hold a single physical advantage over Mayweather?
Height, reach, quickness, speed, weight, all belonged to Mayweather.
If actual boxing skill were to be equal, how the hell is the fighter without any physical advantages going to go about a gameplan to beat the physically superior fighter????

Of course size and mass matters. It all factors in.
For a well rounded fighter, it matters even when you're the much more skilled fighter going up against a bigger less skilled fighter, much more if the fighter you're going to face is just or almost as skilled.

Let me be very clear. Loma is going to Shatter Rigo's Glass Jaw. Rigo has no Chin. None.

Can't wait for the face off so people can see that Rigondeaux is shorter than 5'4.

Actually, Foster knocked out his share of heavyweights.

He was the only guy to bust up Ail's face. Ali himself noted, "Foster punched like a mule". Foster's power was legit at any weight class. Foster dropped weight and campaigned at light heavy for two reasons.

    1. He could make the weight and the Champion, D. Tiger, was a vulnerable old former middleweight at a gigantic height and reach disadvantage. So like what many fighters do today, Foster chose to go after the most vulnerable Champion in his weight range.

    2. Foster could not take a heavyweight punch. He was blown out by Doug Jones, Earnie Terrell, Joe Frazier, badly rocked by Folley, and of course Ali hurt him with almost every clean punch he landed.

Probably. So now you should use this post to hate on Loma or his fans... isn't that how it works? :bananaride

No. It works like: a known fanboy of a fighter makes a thread talking about how the advantages they have in their upcoming match are somehow disadvantages or that they have to overcome something else and then I make a post pointing out that they aren't fooling anybody.

The size difference is significant...in reality Rigo is a 118lber and Loma is 126lb. Anyone who thinks Loma can't punch is sadly mistaken. He doesn't load up in the first 3-4 rounds and then goes to work from 5-7 - it happens every fight. If he couldn't punch, these fighters wouldn't be getting stopped.
