Deontay Wilder has one of the best mandibles in HW boxing, and is the most devastating puncher

If he's getting knocked down by the likes of Sconiers and being rocked by the likes of Molina, they he most likely does not have one of the best mandibles in HW boxing. In fact, it suggests the opposite. Combine this with him being knocked spark out in the amateurs and the only conclusion you can get from this is that Wilder's chin isn't very good.

 

Actually, Wilder DID hit the canvas against Nichols as the video evidence clearly shows and there are many reports of how he was decked and nearly KOd by Sconiers. To say nothing of the scrubs who have wobbled him since!

Wilder's chin is PURE china, which is why he faces carefully selected mediocrities - to pad his thoroughly bogus KO record and keep him from getting KTFO!!

I will tell you this. He is lanky and if he is hit on the chin hard he will be knocked down. I do not think Wilder has a great chin. just by how his body looks.. What would absorb it.

this is about boxing and punch resistance. A guy on the street can punch hard and how often are the tall guys really hit clean. Hearns or Foster or Arguello. were rarely hit, but when they were they would be rocked at times. It is about absorbing a punch and also being aware of it. Being aware is tightening the body up and the whole body absorbs it, but still most thin guys who are lanky will eventually get rocked just because of their body. I think, if they fight enough. But with those bodies they can generate good leverage and body. There comes bad with the good.
