I am now a fan of Eric Israel, I highly doubt he is going to be big name or even that well known but what a win and what a great story, sounds like a top man, very humble and honest. I hope he does well for himself.

Bellotti was definitely always in that fight. Couldnt believe how the commentators - particularly Matt Macklin, who is a sharp cookie) - failed to see it.

I was watching it with some casuals - and I was saying it here repeatedly that the commentators were wrong and Bellotti was chipping away at the body, forcing the pace etc - when 'boom' he delivered for me! Great win for Bellotti. Onwards and upwards!!!

I'm with you, I thought bellotti bossed it from the start. I don't know what macklin was watching tbh.

Macklin's awful, so is Adam Smith. Froch is only good when he's with Malignaggi.

Sky's casting team has gone to the dogs.

I agree, I didn't think it was in doubt, I was impressed with the bodywork from Bellotti, I honestly believed that was taking so much out of Cunningham and I thought Bellotti would get a late stoppage.

Fair play to Cunningham, he made a fight of it and gave it a go.

I will say though Bellotti needs to work on that defence.

It's weird. Commentators...and this seems to be universal....seem to tend to get stuck in s mindset. If the fight starts off with a boxer doing well for a few rounds, they seem to get tunnel vision and only see HIS work. Even if the other boxer comEs back into it they seem oblivious....still talking up the guy who they initially favoured, - often the " house" (eg sky/Matchroom fighter) .....while seeming oblivious to clear visible signs he is in fact in trouble.

You are spot on about the bodywork of belotti, by the way. Totally agree.

I remember watching Reece in the amateurs walking through everyone with body shots, always thought he'd go a long way.

Heard he did well when he sparred frampton and quigg

He's great to watch, awesome body shots!

Be good to see him against lowe

I wouldn't say Macklin is awful in general. Mostly he seems quite good to me. But he Deffo had a bad day at the office this time. Mind you they all agreed with him, the sky team, maybe it looked different live from ringside. Can happen...

I would have to disagree, Macklin is most of the time awful. The worst being when he casted Gavin vs Eggington.

Got to disagree here and say I saw it like macklin - belotti was being caught too clean and cunningham coped well with the pressure until he went down... fair play to belotti for getting the job done
